    electric vehicles

I have a charging point at work and its just about the only thing on that meter. Cost is just over a £100.00 per quarter, so £30.00 a month, probably plugged in about twenty days a month (I don't use the car at weekends usually as I have another vehicle). so about £1.50 a day. It's rare though that I'm charging up from empty, so mostly just keeping it topped up.

No, the Ampera, is my day to day car. I also have a Mercedes Vito Camper which replaced the T5.

I have a Vauxhall Ampera, it does about 35 miles on a single charge, which is fine for most of my day to day running about, if it runs out of charge, the 1.4 litre petrol engine kicks in, this isn't connected to the wheels but just provides electricity to the motors. I can quite happily take the car away and not worry about the range. I have completed around 9,000 miles in the car, mostly electric and used 13 gallons of petrol. Manx Utilities wouldn't let me have the reduced tariff electricity though, as it isn't pure electric.

    Paypal blacklisting IOM?

I operate a small webstore on the Island and ship worldwide, I take PayPal as one form of payment and have had no problem with receiving funds through PayPal. My UK based hosting provider takes payment through PayPal and for a while my payments kept on being refused as the system would not accept payment from an Isle of Man address (no physical purchase). It took some time to resolve this and that was done by my host and PayPal. I purchase some stock from China, had no problems with Alibaba and Aliexpress, but DHGate, will not accept an Isle of Man address, there is no option to select the Isle of Man as a country and when you select UK, it comes up with a list of counties, one of which has to be selected, I usually select the Isle of Wight and then contact the seller to change it, all a bit of a pain.

    Volkswagen T5 Kombi Camper

    Reduced to £12,000.00
  6. SOLD This van was professionally converted by VOLKS-A-VAN around 18 months ago. I am the first owner since the conversion. Unusually for this type of van it is fitted with five proper seats including two removable seats to the rear rather than a rock-n-roll type bed. The rear seats can easily be taken out for large load carrying. The seats also fold forward and with the removable bed platform convert into a bed, using the mattress provided (which is unused) Down one side of the van are well fitted and colour matched units, providing a large amount of storage. There is a small sink unit with an electrically operated cold water tap, with water coming from the under sink water container. The van comes with a nearly new cased portable gas burner. The van has an electric hook up point and power and USB sockets pop up out of the worktop. I have fitted an expensive Pioneer Head Unit in the dashboard, this has Sat Nav, DAB & FM Radio, it can play DVD’s and even connect to your iPhone. Autosparks connected a high quality reversing camera to the Unit, which makes backing the van up that much easier. I have had a removable towbar fitted complete with 12v electrics and in the last couple of months I fitted roof rails which have a loading of 80kg, unlike most rails you see on this type of van which are more for show than use. Below are more details. I’m asking for £12,000.00. Please contact me if you wish to view. The van is located at my office in Douglas, so daytime or evening viewing will be possible. Telephone 496004. 63" Plasma TV

SOLD Anyone interested in a Samsung 63" Plasma TV for £400.00. It's in perfect condition. Not a mark on either the screen or surround. Domestic use only. It's a very heavy TV and will require at least two people to move it and a suitable vehicle. Located in Onchan. Tel: 496004.
  10. SOLD Volkswagen T4 Transporter Van 1995, Manx registered from new. Just over 108,000 miles. Rear seats. Rear carpeted and lined. Black Alloy Wheels with recent tyres. Bodywork resprayed last year. 1.9 diesel, non turbo. New exhaust, Modern stereo with Bluetooth. Clean and tidy, runs very well. Could make a nice little camper van. Reduced from £5,400.00 to first offer over £4,500.00. It has a minor problem with the Drivers Door, the catch doesn't always engage as it should, Its a fairly minor problem which I understand can be fixed by replacing a small spring in the lock mechanism. It might need a new mechanism, I don't know, but the van is being sold as is. A home mechanic should be able to sort it, if not a garage would do it for you. Just want to move it on now so grab a bargain. Tel 496004.
  11. The pure stuff, some think using ordinary car anti freeze is okay, but that is often coloured and can effect the laser beam. I have run one laser tube for 18 months with glycol in the water without any problems. I use proper water chiller units which run 24/7. A lot of lasers you buy through places like eBay just come with a fish tank pump and you are expected to use a bucket of water, not ideal.
  12. I run two water cooled CO2 lasers and I just use de-ionized water (Tesco's seem to be cheapest at the moment). I add some Ethylene Glycol (anti freeze) and don't have any problems.
  13. Roland EGX-300 Desktop Engraver. This machine is in excellent working condition. It comes complete with all software including Dr Engrave and Engrave Lab (complete with Dongles). Also various accessories and cutting tools. Hundreds of brass plates and a number of brass keyrings to get you started. This machine requires a PC Computer running a 32 bit Windows XP or Windows 7 operating system with a parallel port. Can be seen working. There's one on eBay at the moment in not very good condition at £2,000.00 which is a bit over priced. I'm looking for £900.00 which is a bargain price. My mobile number is 496004 and the machine is located in Onchan.
