    Marine Engine (outboard)

Not really (in my experience anyway) a problem. Evenrude/Johnson/OMC/Bombardier whatever the name these days was always quite reliable. Mercury-Mariner-Yamaha, I've only ever had an electrical problem with one engine. That was a Red band 50Hp and it had a failed stator coil. Honda's, well its a Honda, don't go wrong. Control switches however are a different story. Everything under the engine hood is generally very good. Everything on a console or hand control, poor.

I am mate. Not been "full time" for some time now, but help a couple of mates out with their outboards regularly. They're really easy to look after. Its all about chasing salt away mainly. Keeping bolts regularly removed cleaned and greased so that they come out without snapping when you need them to. Change the water impeller routinely, clean and flush waterways, paying special attention to in and around the thermostat (if fitted), and keep the lower leg oil changed too. New plugs, and carbs flushed through as well. Stale fuel is a constant nightmare, you'd be surprised just how quickly modern fuel varnishes up.

What's the engine Neil, and what's the problems with it? Have you got it off the boat?

    Manx Radio

I'm by no means an expert, but I do know that the last thing you would want is a really heavy rear wheel. The less unsprung weight you have the better. Keep all the weight in the center of the vehicle and low down. Putting the drive motor in the center of the rear wheel would make it a nightmare to handle.
  8. I was wondering if anyone here can help with a "crashed " HDD? I have a Seagate freeagent goflex desktop storage device (3TB) and it's decided to no longer play ball. I was in the process of copying everything from it to another disk and now I see no content at all. I'd only got about half way through the job. The disc runs and has no repetitive "clicking" noise like a broken reader, so I'm assuming it's still ok as a disc unit, but I cant read anything off it. Is there a programme suitable to try or have I to bite the bullet and send it away to Seagate, who offer a service to recover lost data but it's a fortune they want?

    Smal UPS

I've a small ETON Powerware 5110 UPS for sale. Works perfect, and the last time the power was off it ran a router, 4cam CCTV two hard drives and a 24 port POE switch for over 35 mins no problem. I've a couple of output leads too. £20

    Travel Camera Recommendation

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-DSCHX50-Compact-Digital-Camera/dp/B00CH08M0G I have this one. I think it's the same but without NFC. Welcome to try it before you buy your own. Thanks for the offer - what's your thoughts on using it? I'm by no means an expert I'm afraid. I bought it as I've decided to sell all my larger pro stuff which I bought on a whim while we were doing motorsports in the UK, and really love it. Simple to use, battery life is good, simple to transfer photos, really good zoom, large screen, 20mega pixels and really great quality movie footage. Don't like the fact that it hasn't a viewfinder as sometimes in bright light it can be difficult to center a shot, but not many have them any more. Really love it.

    Satellite Dish Fix

I've got a satellite signal finder/tester. Unplug one of the leads to the back of the sky box plug it into the tester and check the signal strength and quality. Tells you quickly if it's the box or the dish/down leads. More than welcome to borrow it.
  13. As far as I am aware it used to be the means of entering and exiting the old quarry. I stopped near there last year and explored it and it's a tunnel for want of a better description of about 25 meters long that leads to a stone quarry. There is now a road to the said quarry which is entered a few meters st John's side of this. Very interesting.
