I have now had my mac for nearly a week.
I have a few questions:

1) When i select a bunch of mp3s, and hit enter, nothing happens. In windows, it would open only those mp3s. i was using wmp. No im on mac, it is itunes How can i get itunes to play the slected tunes that have been selected from the finder (or downloads to be more specific).

2) Again itunes, how can i get an option on the ctrl click thing so that i can ctrl click on an mp3 and go to 'add to now playing' or something to that effect...like in windows. I have read about ontext menu items, but i can't find anything to do this specifically.

3) Where is the option keyboard button? Am i blind? I have tried to empty the trash, and there are some files in there that it thinks are important (they're not, they came off my external HD when transfering from windows to mac), and it wants me to press option, then empty trash.

4) How do i do page up / page down / home / end like i could do in windows?

5) In my library, I have a bunch of tunes that i have been too lazy to give names because i figured itunes would do it for me when i connected to the internet, but i dont know how to do this. When I ctrl click on said tunes, and go to get CD track names, it says "import them again with itunes". Does this mean I have to re-import about 500mb of music to get them to get the track names?

This is all for now, ill probably add more as time goes by.

Thanks
G

1) Right click and select open with QuickTime to preview, right click and select itunes to import to library.

2) Drag the track to the playlist you want with the mouse. If you drag it to the playlist you are currently listening to, that is the same as currently listening.

3) bottom left button names are left to right function, control, option, command, then the spacebar.

4) Command + up and down cursor keys are page up and down, command + left = home, command + right is end.

5) select the tracks in itunes. Top menu : advanced : Get Track Names, Get album Artwork

Enjoy !

Hi, thanks for the answers, but I still have problems.

1) When I select multiple tunes in finder, and open then with quicktime, loads of quicktime windows appear. Also, nothing happens when i right click anywhere in quicktime. I can however, highlight a bunch of mp3s in finder, then right click and go to open with, itunes. But this only plays one of the highlighted tunes, because when i press next (in itunes), the next tune in my whole library plays, not the next selected.

2) I should ask the question differently...say i have the Gorillaz first album playing, and I want after that, to play 3 mozart tunes, how can i cue the 3 mozart tracks after the gorillaz?

3) Brilliant - it works, apart from it says 'alt' instead of 'option'

4) Ahh. BUT, when im on firefox or something, and there is a huge page that i want to go down in leaps, I would go page down, but when i go cmd down, it goes right to the bottom, instead of leaping, is there any way i can change a setting or something to make it leap?

5) It doesn't work. It says "iTunes cannot get names for CDs that were not imported using iTunes. ...import the song again with iTunes" I imported them off my external hard drive. How would i go about importing them all into itunes again?

1 & 2 : sounds like you just need to use playlists and make them work for you. You really need to start with the tracks having already been imported into iTunes though (just drag and drop)

4) Dont know about firefox, But funtion + cursor up and cursor down works for me in Safari. Although I personally find swipe scrolling much easier.

5) I dont know where you got the files from : it works ok for me. I forgot to mention that you need a itunes account configured, even if you dont intend to buy anything for this to work.
