I wasnt aware that the bus or eventually buses were being restricted to shuttle runs to the airport!

just wondering what the maximum length of vehicles on Manx roads is ?

Quote

Used almost exclusively on public transport bus services, articulated buses are approximately 18 metres (60 ft) in length

Quote

The Road Vehicles (Maintenance and Use) Regulations 1998 set an upper limit of 16.5 metres for articulated vehicles.

I wonder if the SPCo will carry something which is illegal to use on the IoM ?

I have been led to believe that the bendy bus is here on approval and they haven't actually bought it. The bus will be in operation from Tuesday doing purely shuttle runs from Douglas to the airport.

If you read the thread...

I doubt a bendy bus will get round Ramsey Hairpin well.

Fortunately, facts are very rare on Manxforums

Now come on. I'm sure the decision makers would have been thorough enough to check if the thing can be legally used before shipping it over here.

I can't believe I just typed that.
