After all it cost's more to employ DHSS staff than it does to look after people on benefits.
Civil service shocker?

...and administrative civil servants still won't admit they're paid too much.

I will not give dole spongers a break. Where I come from if you don't work you don't eat. I do not understand why those who work should pay for those who are too happy to sit around on their arses.

If they cancelled Christmas they could crack on and do more operations over the 'festive period' rather than have everything coming to a halt for 2/3 weeks.

Where is this? Some beacon of social justice in the world or South Africa? The latter is just a country with a less advanced state run system that mitigates some of the worst problems of capitalism: unemployment is one. And I don't think a humane society is one where people believe that if you don't sell yourself for a cheap price to do meaningless or unrewarding work you deserve to starve. But yes, there is a big problem because of this situation of people having to support others out of what little they have, but we endorse the system that creates this problem.
