And anyway, who says Bus Vannin will be privatised?

Anyone who can make logical deductions.

Don't worry - I'm sure someone will draw you a diagram.

I wonder if he'll try it on with the same tactics with the DOI workforce, baggage handlers et al?

Industrial strife across the board, anyone....?

What, a kind of "Arab Spring"?

More like a "Slack-Arab" spring........? zorro.gif

So what has this guy actually achieved to benifit the Island, in his long " public service " then?

Nick Black is a good choice.

Would you care to elaborate?

Yes, at the health and safety executive he was able to work with Bent Ham, That is a skill in itself. Then at the office of fair trading he led some interesting enquiries, which did alter government policy for the benifit of the consumer. During the recent bus strike I thought he stayed firm and strong which is what government need right now and its what will be needed at DOI to implement new projects at a reduced capital budget. The other choice may well have been Anne Reynolds... Have I elaborated enough?

From what I've seen of him, his main weakness is that he tends to suffer from a kind of 'tunnel vision' in that, once he has made his mind up about something (sometimes with little time for consideration), absolutely nothing short of divine intervention will convince him that he might have been wrong.

It's normally a rather Manx trait - although that doesn't apply in this case.

Well the one good thing is that if he gets the DOI workers out on strike as easily as the bus workers, the roads will run a lot more smoothly without the legendary Manx hi viz gnomes leaning on their shovels at inconvienient points in the road network for years on end.

They'd all keep toppling over if they had to stand around on a picket line with no shovels to lean on.

I have been working with a bent ham for years, but since discovering Viagra, it is bent far less often!
