Chaps,

Anyone know of anybody that undertakes repairs to cameras?

Basically, it was dropped in very fine sand which has gotten everywhere and has now rendered my little digital camera unuseable.
The camera is a Fujifilm Finepix F401.

Alternatively, has any forum dudes taken one apart and managed to put it back together again? I`m too scared !!!
Ahhhh, nothing to lose - I`m having a go!

Last time I had a camera problem, Percy Morrison sorted it out at a good price and in a reasonable time.

Don't want to throw a downer into this one,

I had a fuji (MX1700 i think). There was a flat rate to send it back to fuji ( via Percy Morrison as the dealer).
I think it was £100

The age of my camera etc etc - better to buy a new one in my case, but they'll know at the shop,

Now does anyone want ot buy a fujui MX1700 with a broken lens/zoom ;)

As above - get a new camera. It's 2.1 MP which produces a 3.9 MP image. But it's a 2.1 MP camera. It'll cost you more than a new better camera to get fixed.

That said - maybe, just maybe, it's somehow covered by your household or travel insurance. ??
