Only took you two days for that rapier like wit of yours to kick in

2 days is like 4 seconds on here...if youv've been busy for 2 days.

Your confidence in yourself is vastly overrated.

Strange casting that I have to say. Shame he was cast in that role because it lets down what is a very good gripping drama series.

John Bishop is as funny as a dental abcess. And if anyone has been watching "Fearless" on ITV you'll also be aware that he can't act either.

He was good though.

My lad took me to see him a few years ago and he really was vey funny.:)

However, since that , he does not seem to have progressed and is still telling the same gags day in, day out.

I admire his self confidence though, that takes some beating.

In some cases self confidence is simply a lack of self awareness. We may have that here.

Yes. It is odd casting in a very good drama. I wonder how many people did a double take, moved in for a closer look and said incredulously: "That's John Bishop!" I couldn't have been any more surprised if he'd turned up to read the electricity meter.

One of his stories on stage is about how his teenage son thinks he's an embarrassment. "He says why are you on stage doing that? You're just not funny." It always gets a laugh though.

Totally agree.

However if he wasn't so immediately recognisable I suspect folks wouldn't be quite so judgemental of his "acting ability" in what is, after all, a very minor role.

We admire stand-ups for no other reason than they are bloody sharp characters. We have booked to see John Bishop at the MEN later this year. Should be fun.

was funny in parts but his language was a bit rough, are the hecklers planted ?

seemed a bit scripted at times

For a minute I thought you were referring to the 80's band led by Natalie Merchant.

Er, yes. But it's the modern vernacular and what Bishop actually said.
