£250,000?

Recommended Posts

Wanted by Manx Radio on top of everything else to cover the TT races? Blimey. Is that right? From link...

"Manx Radio bosses asked for £200,000 more in a subsidy AND wanted £250,000 to cover the TT races, it has emerged."

Normally broadcasters would expect to pay for the rights to cover large sporting events. Interesting alternative approach from Manx Radio.

The tools in Tynpotland will in all likelihood give the money to them.

It's just the usual Manx Radio kids having a party and raking in the overtime. Such as Kinners egging on the riders to talk about wanking and that, and do a bit of cheeky swearing on air, Tim transferring his skills from reporting on the local hockey to reporting motorbikes. The rest of them digging up some heavy metal and shouty music from their pop collection.

It's a party and an ego boost for them. At least they have an audience.

They should be paying the Government to broadcast TT*

And Buster was going to bring people over who would pay the Government a number of £millions to broadcast the TT....

*actually a serious point. The advertising revenue must be very nice for TT week.

Does it costs him every year to change his name back and fro? All that paperwork, new back cards, passport, letter heads, business cards ...

Yes what other broadcaster anywhere else in the world would get a contract to broadcast an event and then say - that’s great it will cost you shed loads of money for us to cover that for you! It’s customary to pay for the rights to broadcast sports content that you then use to sell advertising around.

FFS, really? So we’re basically saying there is no interest in the TT so we have to pay people to provide media coverage on it?
