I suspect criminal culpability lies a little closer to home. I have a friend who used to work in fish and chip type establishments on the island as a youth in the late 80s/ early 90s, and they assure me they never used to sell this combination of culinary delights.

Anyone can add to wiki can't they? All you have to do to overturn this it would seem, is prove that chips, cheese and gravy was here prior to 1957 through some form of citation.
