Does anyone have any recommendations for gym footwear, I've previously sworn by Adidas Torsion trainers for rigidity/stability when lifting.
Current trainers are near dead, all comments welcome. |

I am with Rhumsaa on this one, I go to 'The Gym' and plenty of the lads doing weights use the Masai trainers. I wear them myself, for both aerobic and weights work.
They are not cheap, but well worth it. |

MBT look more like walking/running shoes, but they obviously lend themselves to any kind of exercise
Uni did mention 'lifting' and going back to my weightlifting days, I'd prefer a shoe with full foot contact, so you're looking at something like this: weightlifting shoes or these: other weightlifting shoes This post has been edited by RC-Drift.com: Jun 6 2007, 09:19 AM |

if you're in any way serious about lifting, you should have your ankles strapped up anyway so any sort of flat soled trainer should be fine. wearing mbts to lift deadweights could actually be dangerous.

I'd agree. pretty much every serious athlete I know debunks them as a fashion faddy thing, and there's been reports of a number of injuries due to them. You'd probably be a lot safer off actually being barefoot than wearing those things!! |
