  1. I have been advised elsewhere to run this test http://speedtest.btwholesale.com at three different times of day before contacting MT and that the issue may be the exchange being at capacity so users are being throttled, does this sound about right?
  2. Been having trouble with our broadband here too recently, loosing sync with the exchange (LCP down) and massive fluctuations in download speed and ping even with tests run only a minute apart. We have a Netgear DGN2000 connected via a filtered faceplate on the master socket, I have tested on a wired connection with the router connected directly to to test socket behind the faceplate and even tried a custom firmware to tweak the SNR with no improvement. The router syncs at around 10500 kbps and speedtests are usually 8700 kbps with a 10ms ping but it can suddenly drop to less than 1000 kbps with a 800 ms ping, downstream line attenuation is 39.0 db with a noise margin of 6.5 db. At this point I'm pretty sure it's a line fault but am unable to rule out the router as the problem as I don't have access to another to test with, does this sound like it could be a router issue or should I just get MT to send an engineer out either way?

  4. Thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to donate, we have raised over £1200 so far with donations still coming in daily. It has been decided to run a raffle alongside the fundraising to help boost donations for the cause, everyone who has generously donated so far and anyone who donates will have tickets put into the raffle draw. We have had some fantastic prizes donated including: A travel voucher for a car and 2 passengers from The Steam Packet Co A £30 voucher from Sure A £25 voucher from Shoprite A pair pillows from Millichaps A meat pack from Lee Mayers the butcher And many more! https://www.justgiving.com/morgans-hair http://youtu.be/BALE9DJkwrE
  5. Five year old Morgan has chosen to donate her lovely long locks to help make wigs for children who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment, she is also using the opportunity to help raise money for The Childrens Centre. Donations large or small would be much appreciated, if you are unable to donate for whatever reason then you can also help by spreading the word. Many thanks https://www.justgiving.com/morgans-hair
  6. Failing that there is an EU directive that states 'A two-year guarantee applies for the sale of all consumer goods everywhere in the EU. In some countries, this may be more, and some manufacturers also choose to offer a longer warranty period.' You can try to use this rule if: The goods were purchased no longer than two years ago. The store will not provide a refund or repair because you are returning the item after their return period has ended, usually one year. You are reporting the fault within two months of discovering it. The goods show no signs of damage through your actions or misuse. You may manage to get your refund on the basis of the EU directive, however, shops are within their rights to use the Sale of Goods Act as the definitive guideline instead.
