  1. Dragging up an old post! We are thinking of getting a wood burning stove but don't have a chimney! We think you can get a flue pipe. Think this puts the cost up somewhat! Anyone know of someone on the island who could fit a stove at a good price? Thanks
  2. I am sure that there are many alternatives which could be explored before they close it down! Money could be taken on the front desk and not have the cafe. It could be manned by the parents (as has been done in some play areas attached to pubs in the UK), as in it is not supervised and the responsibility is with the parents. It will still need to be maintained due to them being open for parties so this would mean that they would only be spending on heating and lighting which I would think is only a small cost in the grand scheme!! It they put their prices up a little and allowed the play session to be for 90 mins rather than 60mins play & 30 mins cafe time, then this would be more appealing to parents anyway and would allow for the slight price increase!! I would rather pay a little more and get 90 mins, have no cafe and supervise my own child (as I do anyway!!) and see it stay open!
  3. BRILLIANT!!!! Thanks Addie!!
  4. Thanks for the info! We would most certainly consider a Bolognese! The Havanese, Bichon Frise, Maltese, Bolognese all seem very similar and would be right up our street! That said, we are not too concerned with pedigree - just a happy, healthy dog suitable for a family. Have been to MSPCA today to pop our name down for a small dog. Would love to take a rescue dog but am a little concerned about getting an older dog which might have social problems (We have a 3 year old daughter so the pet needs to be OK with small children). Thanks for the link to the breeder.
  5. Dragging up an old (ish) thread. I'm also looking into getting a small dog - something like a Havanese, Bichon Frise or Maltese although I'm not concerned with pedigree, more the temperament and hair shedding / allergy traits. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Many thanks
  6. They are doing some work to the flumes and some electrics work so I've been told. Someone who works there told me they need to be closed due to the fumes caused by doing up the flumes.
  7. Bit of an eye sore! Doesn't fit in with the landscape at all which is a bit of a shame. I want to like it but I just can't at the moment.
  8. On the topic of local cycle stores, where is a good place to buy a trailer to put the kiddies in? Looking online and they seem like an ok price but how does this compare to IOM prices?
  9. Thanks for the replies Will take a look at Sadlers. I'm specifically wanting Muck Boots for a number of reasons. I already have some of these for myself: http://www.muckbootco.co.uk/tack.html And I'm looking for some for my hubby, thinking these: http://www.muckbootco.co.uk/avon.html or Derwent/Tay Cheers!
  10. Hi, can anyone suggest the cheapest place to buy muck boots wellies locally? I know eden park do than for £61 which is quite good but can anywhere beat that? Cheers!
  11. How much are tickets? Is the ticket per person or per camping pitch? Trying to book online but site down Wanting to take my 3 year old. Is there plenty for the little ones? Cheers
  12. That's a pity (the centre closing, not the baby part). I've always wondered: did the centre see much business? Lol! Yes, centre was always busy! Had students in most evenings. Many of them secondary students. I teach primary. There were 3 teachers and a teaching assistant.
  13. I was also a tutor at the Maths Centre... it has closed due to Lisa (who ran it) having a baby.
