  1. Anyone had a septic tank installed recently ? looking for reliable installer and idea of cost.
  2. Looking for somewhere on the island to get my binoculars repaired, any ideas who might provide this service are welcome. Scurrilous suggestions as to why i have binoculars are not.
  3. If the island took a number of refugees and the outcome of the war was not in their favour then i assume they could apply/claim political assylum. Would they then be given the right to work here ? and what would they be entitled to in the form of benefits if they were not ?
  4. Would you say that if she was convicted in say a Libyan Court ? its only established by USA standards which are pretty much trial by Mob & Media.

That argument could be used for absolutely any law. You enforce it when you can and have the resources to do so. Its a lame excuse to not introduce appropriate legislation.

How about an all island 60mph limit for a 3 year trial period. look at the road death rate then and see if your statement holds true.
  7. The prize for nonchalant walk goes to the geezer in the blue loafers.
  8. finally finished. What an intrusive waste of my time that was. Thommo, my old man refused to fill in certain parts back in the 80s, he got a whopping fine as i recall. I wonder which government departments have access to this data.
  9. I've been kicked off the website over 20 times this morning with 'sorry theres a problem', I'm still on the first questions about one of four occupiers. At what point legally is it reasonable for me to either switch off and say this is unworkable or bill them for my time as its their problem ?

  12. Perhaps they want to put the old TT Scoreboard in Balthane, together with a tarmac road and a few cub scouts as a new attraction.
  13. So this poster is basically an ideal but has no resemblance to reality 1612-iom-covid_vaccine_priority_poster_final-web-161220.pdf
  14. I've just had a look at the schedule for vaccinations https://covid19.gov.im/vaccination/vaccination-schedule-priority-groups/ which doesnt seem to be a schedule at all but more a timeline of what theyve done. Does anyone know what priority group they are currently vaccinating (1-10) and the projected dates when each will start ? If theres a link I'm just not finding please point me to it/
  15. Had a similar problem myself some years ago. General builders / roofers didnt want to touch it as they couldnt guarantee any work they did as they didnt fit the original roof. All talked of previous jobs with people calling them back when fixes to conservatory roofs hadnt worked then expected further work with guarantee for free. Best bet is find a good handyman. Again it is unlikely he will guarantee any work either.
  16. Definitely Umbongo in my day. and they drink it in the Congo Uuh
  17. Hand us over to the UK and rename us Manxshire. Yay sorted.
  18. I always thought driving on closed roads was what used to be (and possibly still is) referred to as an 'absolute offence' . The road legally closes at a particular time and the car drove on to the road after that specified time, if the answer is yes then the offence is complete. Whether barriers were in place and/or people were or were not waving flags is just mitigation. For example Mr Dilligaf lives in a mansion house which he accesses through electronic gates that enter on to the course. He has not long returned home from a month abroad in the Galapagos islands and has totally forgotten the TT is on. 2 minutes or 20 minutes after the roads legally close he then drives out of his gates intending to visit Maccy D's, there are no barriers or marshals to be seen in either direction of his drive. The fact he has no idea the road is closed isnt really relevant, offence is complete he drove on a closed road. Excuses and reasons are purely mitigation . John will probably politely tell me (very politely) I'm a bit dense but thats how I've always seen it.
  19. The metformin replacement ‘sukkarto’ is like trying to swallow a whole grape !
  20. As the government aren’t doing enough I wonder if any of these fantastic parents have tooled their kids up today for self protection. Although a spud gun would be a reasonable non lethal option. I should clarify, when I say ‘tooled up’ I don’t mean in the foxdale way.
  21. I should say this morning now ! Saturday 8:45 sailing
  22. I’m booked on tomorrow mornings 8.45 sailing to Heysham with a 5 day break deal. I suspect it may get cancelled but in the event it doesn’t and goes ahead I really don’t fancy traveling in the rough weather anyway. If I don’t turn up do I lose the complete fare or will they let me reorganize till after the bad weather at and charge a rearrange fee? Anyone know ? i can’t ring them as no one is there.
  23. He looks a bit lost to me. Castle Saburac is out towards Peel yessir.
  24. Trying to resist Amazons ‘deal of the day’ would be a fair defence. I struggle myself sometimes.
