  1. Not on holiday this year so will be attending. Here's the usual spreadsheet with all the beers and ciders rankings: Link (Also attached for downloading) Enjoy Beer Festival 2019.xlsx
  2. Great night. No qualms about queuing but Thursday was never too bad, and this time they had some musical entertainment which was spot on for a bit of a boogy. As for my spreadsheet, the top one was a bit of a let down, nice porter but not much else. 3rd was the biggest let down, far too watery although incredibly coffee tasting. Very glad to say one of the best beers there was a manx one - mosaic, sweet hops balance perfectly with a bitter finish. And my all time favourite plum porter was delightful too as always
  3. Couldn't find a thread for this year. Here's a spreadsheet for those going: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=829F34AE91106707!416&authkey=!AJCmEVN3xZ30FfQ&ithint=file%2cxlsx
  4. For those who only want to taste the best (well, as far as internet ratings go...) http://1drv.ms/1camcll You're welcome
  5. For anyone interested I've been geeking it up and made a spreadsheet showing each beers rating from www.ratebeer.com to give an idea for which ones to look out for: http://www.unibytes.com/2dUfNW4c43wLqw-Us4P3UgBB?drgn=1 Obviously these ratings are subjective so make of them what you will. edit: persec

  13. It all went down at the horse box! Other than alluding to needing a rest , what's the reason for the cancellation?

    Wtf Is This

Yeah that threw me off as well. Bizarre as Russia Today are usually quite reliable for information.

    Wtf Is This

Anyone catch this yesterday? Tom Watson, PMQs, 12:28p, 24th October 2012: Full question asked by Tom Watson MP at Prime Ministers Questions today: "The evidence file used to convict paedophile Peter Righton, if it still exists, contains clear intelligence of a widespread paedophile ring. One of it's members boasts of a link to a senior aide of a former Prime Minister who says he could smuggle indecent images of children from abroad. The leads were not followed up, but if the file still exists I want to ensure that the Metropolitan Police secure the evidence, re-examine it and investigate clear intelligence suggesting a powerful paedophile network linked to Parliament and number 10. The Prime Ministers reply: Well, the honourable gentleman raises a very difficult and complex case and I'm not entirely sure which former Prime Minister he is referring to but what I would like to do is look very carefully in Hansard as to the allegations that he's made, the case that he's raised and look very carefully and see what the government can to do give him the assurances that he seeks." Pretty shocking if there's any truth in it and cracks are beginning to emerge within Parliament. Still at the tin foil hat stage but there's no smoke without fire so we'll see... 17. Anyone go to this? Left feeling a tad bit disappointed if I'm honest. All his new material was great, particularly the "broken ticket machine" joke, but a lot of it was from his year old DVD - Lion Whisperer (which I'd made my girlfriend watch only a week before hand). His entire encore was of material from it leaving me and my girlfriend beating him to the punch line nearly every time. To top that off the audience discussion part just left me feeling depressed, with the only thing us audience were capable of mentioning about what's good about the island being the "tax" (which I doubt anyone in the room actually benefits from!). How both comedians failed to ask a single resident before hand whether or not we had a Nando's is beyond me and also left me in a state of spice chicken remorse. Conclusion - With hindsight I would have recommended not bothering and just watch the DVD instead.
  18. Did anyone notice the rain last night?
  19. Depends how little gas within a given volume needs to be present for it to be classed "air"! What I really enjoy about this whole event and discussion is that even NASA are unsure exactly what will happen when he reaches supersonic. The great Urghknown visited once again
  20. Perhaps, but it was my understanding that the drogue parachute would deploy before the air pressure gets too great and he'll gradually fall below mach - way before the shock waves become strong enough to cause such an imbalance. Not true, an aircraft travelling fast enough (and high enough) would eventually have a sonic wave angle of zero whereby the air reverts to "clinging" onto the aircraft. (tried and failed to find the source for this - will keep trying though) Edit: Cited in here http://asadl.org/jasa/resource/1/jasman/v51/i2C/p686_s1?isAuthorized=no, sadly not free though
  21. I still maintain that there will be no boom though
  22. At the point at which he reaches Mach 1, the air will be too dense to produce sonic waves (and the quintessential boom) so shape is irrelevant.
