  2. Hi Daisy Chain, Well, Sara worked for the Fire Service, she was well loved within the whole fire service and was also married to a fire man. Unfortunately she passed away from a long suffering illness, and really, as a mark of respect for her great work within the fire service, they named the walk the Sara Killey memorial walk. Aswell as that, she was my mum so i am trying to get as many people as i can to do the walk this year. It's a great walk. Sophie x
  3. Can i interest anyone in doing this walk this year? GREAT training for those of you who are doing the Parish. It takes place on the 25th of April, over 30 miles, from Peel Fire Station to Ramsey Fire Station. For more information, and to print out a Registration form, head to www.iomfire.com and click on Sara Killey Memorial Walk 2010. Thanks, Sophie x -Sorry, i posted this in Local Events aswell!

  5. Why dont you try out the Sara Killey Memorial Walk? This walk takes place on the 25th of April and is great for outlining how well you are coping with the walking. The walk is 30 miles long and starts at Peel Fire Station, ending at Ramsey Fire Station. You could use the walk as training for the Parish, and any problems you have on this walk, you could iron out ready for the parish! (And you don't have to finish it either!) Check out www.iomfire.com then click on Saras Walk.
  6. What would you define as a bad parent though? But yes.. they should be taken away...
  7. It wasn't just that there was no alcohol being served, you couldnt even buy non alcoholic drinks! No water, no tea or coffee. No nothing!! Thats a bit harsh isnt it?
  8. Im sure there are so many topics on here complaining about the Steam Packet Company, but coming back from Liverpool on Sunday, we got to Douglas, only for them to tell us that there was no space to dock and we would have to wait about 15 - 30 minutes. 1 hour later we finally pulled into a spare space - after the Ben my Chree had gone out. I dont understand how that could happen - surely they know how long it takes for the boat to come from Liverpool and there would be no space for it once it got in. How do they just allow us to be stranded out there for an hour. Aswell as this, they didnt even open the shops back up - so we couldnt even buy a drink in the extra hour we were there!

    Rats

I'm not sure if this is completely true, but i heard a while ago that when a boat would sink, the rats would be the last thing to leave the boats, so it was bad luck to mention them by name.... i dont see how that would just be in Isle of Man history though as surely this would be the same around the world.
  10. I hate that its not mega sunny any more
