  1. I went past Broadway this morning. Not a chance it will be ready.

Unless they are doing one of their temporary chuck a bit of tarmac down and dig it up again in a months time efforts.

Looks like they are going to just 'Switch it off and on again"

**Service Announcement Update 26th August** The current issue affecting broadband services in various areas of the island is still being investigated by Manx Telecom. We have been made aware that in an attempt to restore services, all users will be disconnected and reconnected at approximately 16:30 today (26th August). Please be advised that you may need to reboot your routers.

So they actually are going to try turning it off and on again.

  3. So now according to Manx Radio they are going to be dishing out data only sim cards.

This ain't getting fixed anytime soon it it?

Seriously though. Have they actually tried turning it off and on again?

Sorry , but Buster was king of the election fraud.

Sad really, as there was a nice person inside that crooked shell

Surely the king of election fraud would be one that actually won the election they tried to rig.

I know of a health care worker in the forces who cannot get back home to the island to see his young family due to the quarantine. Staying isolated for 14 days is not an option as the person has to be able to be operational within 72 hours from within the UK where they are based. Not seen family since before Christmas last year. Bummer.

Health care worker and in the forces.

Well that makes this story sound entirely true. You should have chucked hard working in there somewhere as well.

Nothing to support him for. He must be doing something right as he keeps getting voted in.

I liked his moan today saying the bus station carpark should be reopened just days after the corpy gave back two carparks to the government because nobody was using them.

Not at all. The rock gets away with a great deal, for example defence spending in line with NATO would cripple the economy. Were the place not run by major league idiots it would be much better.

You must be glad to be in England with such a top notch team running the place.

Wouldn't they be better off putting a sign at the top of Howard St opposite TK Maxx saying 'We are open'

Yes it's tough for the businesses but maybe being a bit pro active with marketing rather than just expecting people to walk through the door as normal may be a tad more constructive.

I think you may have misunderstood? They have resigned as constables and still appeared at court. It just means the job doesn’t have to go through the rigmarole of dismissal.

What impact (if any) does resignation v dismissal have on pension rights?

Kirk Michael is pretty much isolated as far as the line goes. You can get to Ballaugh (I think) but southwards to Peel a lot of the route has collapsed or been reclaimed as farmland and lost, certainly down the west coast. Ditto to Sulby and Ramsey. So how are people going to cycle via those sections?

You can get from Kirk Michael to the middle of Sulby on the old railway lines, I've done it a few times.

I presume Kirk Michael to StJohns is or will be passable once complete.

This image is from the MyProm webpage. The black and light grey road surface will become black 'n' crap in a very short time. Then the TT arrives and the bikers will be adding donuts to the design.
The grey strip in the foreground is the horse tram tracks, so as the image shows, children will be walking in between two sets of traffic. The skirts on the horse trams are nowhere near as comprehensive as on a modern tram. If a child does go under a tram, the flanged steel wheels running on steel rails will take off a hand or foot.
Maybe it will look better when the double yellow lines, multiple Give Way signs and piles of horse manure are included.

They are doing it in tarmac now.

Then digging it up again later to redo it in the black/grey colours.

So.... 'twould appear from the front page of the Courier that Trevor Cowin has some grounds in his grievances about the rejection of his Tynwald Day petitions after all.

The Tynwald Standing Orders Committee have ruled that two of the rejected petitions were, in fact, in order and also that an un-notified "change in the rules" had been instigated.

TC has his own opinions on this, largely that the rules are being made up on the hoof. His 9th petition questioning the future of the current Clerk of Tynwald in role has apparently disappeared....

So a former senior executive officer can manage to get the paperwork right 25% of the time.

I can see why he did so well there.

Who is doing that now? I heard a story involving the former contractors, some building work and the planning department, a potential demolition, a million quid and a fight.

Nothing to do with two abandoned houses in Santon was it?
