  1. Work on the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry's new environmentally friendly headquarters is reported to be progressing on schedule. The Department’s plan to centralise its six divisions into a single building outside Douglas, relocating its 70 staff in the process, is on target for the end of March 2010. Story here.

  4. The launch of £22 million bulk carrier Caly Manx has helped to raise the international profile of the Isle of Man Ship Registry. The carrier was officially named at the Tsuneishi Zhoushan Shipyard, near Shanghai, by local singer and actress Samantha Barks. Chief Minister Tony Brown MHK headed an Isle of Man Government delegation to China, supported by Trade and Industry Minister David Cretney MHK and Director of the Ship Registry Dick Welsh.   5. The Villa Marina Gardens is to house a temporary ice rink over the festive period.   6. The Department of Transport has announced the completion of the road improvement scheme at Johnny Watterson's Lane. The road will reopen to traffic on Friday 2nd October.
