  1. The first of Aurigny's flights arrives tomorrow, and in true airport mismanagement style, the road in front of the terminal is currently closed! Rain is forecast tomorrow. Looks like the passengers are going to get wet! Welcome to Ronaldsway!
  2. At the moment the details of any self isolation requirement are far from clear: https://covid19.gov.gg/guidance/travel
  3. Once again it appears that Jersey is a step ahead of us : https://www.gov.je/News/2020/Pages/IslandwideTesting.aspx
  4. You may get a faster response from his twitter account: https://twitter.com/JeremySpake?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor He seems to be more active there than at the Airport!
  5. Unfortunately, the fact that Freedom Travel have not confirmed that the holidays concerned have been cancelled then customers will not be able to start the process of claiming from their credit card suppliers. On the face of it Freedom Travel are being less than transparent about the situation. To date, reading in the press, all they have said is that the flights have been 'suspended'. Along with all the other customers I, too, am completely frustrated with the lack of response by Freedom Travel. If you try and phone them, they don't answer. Similar lack of response to email queries. The obvious step would be to leave a recorded message to their customers on their phone - with advise about whether the holidays concerned have been cancelled. This continuing silence from Freedom Travel serves merely to damage what previously was a good reputation.
  6. The strange disembarkation procedure of ATR's is interesting! I seem to remember passengers in rows 1-10 being told to remain in their seats until the passengers in rows 11 on wards have disembarked. Seems that a tail stand is usually used to guard against the nose lifting off the ground! Quaint.
  7. OMG !!! Not those awful ATR's again.
  8. This article provides an interesting insight into the Peel Group: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/the-biggest-company-youve-never-heard-of-lifting-the-lid-on-peel-group-the-property-firm-owned-by-8890201.html Food for thought!
  9. SleezyJet will drop the Island overnight just whenever it suits. Passengers interests .... what interests??????
  10. I've used a PAYG sim supplied by 3 on the Island for about a year now. With no roaming charges it makes 3 PAYG cheaper than Manx Telecom's PAYG both on calls and texts.
  11. Try Alderney: https://uk.linkedin.com/in/noel-hayes-39517317
  12. Remember this: https://www.helpnetsecurity.com/2015/05/22/isle-of-man-taxpayers-info-leaked-due-to-email-error/ Fills you with confidence, doesn't it? The hackers must be looking forward in anticipation!
  13. I'm sure that GCHQ would have no problem at all telling you who you are when they've had a look through your emails, and checked your mobile phone!

    Petrol Prices

Perhaps the OFT on the Island needs to adopt the fuel price monitoring system used in Jersey: http://www.jerseyfuelwatch.com/unleaded-prices/
