    Government reopening public counters

I'd like to know what the IoM Bank are up to though, they're still making people queue in the street 1 in 1 out.

Big queue outside Castletown branch at noon.

Perhaps Gary has gone on his twitter holiday as he’s aware of the impending media frenzy surrounding the officers who have breached COVID legislation over the last couple of months and been given fines rather than sent to prison like the remainder of the public doing the same, having previously been warned over their COVID period behaviour.

Oh no, my bad- that would a) require investigative journalism, b) an honest and transparent FOI request on the IOM, and c) accountability , integrity, and responsibility of senior police officers being called into question.

    Never gonna happen then....

    Your evidence please.

As has been suggested here (I think), Treasury isn't spending as much as had been feared might be the case & the emergency budget may well be postponed

Are Treasury sending out personal tax returns yet?

Ray Harmer was given the poisoned chalice in DOI - most of the actual workforce were dispensed with some years ago in an attempt to cut costs with the department consisting mostly of managers who sub contract the work - however it seems either the day-to-day supervision of these is incompetent or the actual job specifications were incorrect otherwise how come simple tasks such as resurfacing the road from St Johns to the Hope required to be done twice, let alone jobs like Douglas Prom - too many such jobs seem to be mired in cockups for it to be purely accidental. Isn't this lack of knowledge within the dept one of the points highlighted in the Laxey report.

Same with dispensing the river gangs.

It is good to see restrictions being loosened and allow the public to self regulate.
Does anyone to wager on how long the ‘temporary’ speed limit will remain for? Another month is my bet, although tomorrow is my wish.

    What’s the rush?

I have seen a lot of this moaning about Spar putting prices up of Facebook yet no one is complaining about Tesco. My weekly shop has gone up from about £90 to £120 and I'm buying pretty much the same item's. Tesco had basically cut all promotions and offers on food and I imagine it's the same in all supermarkets.

I find Castletown Co-op offer some good offers/discounts

I have sent several emails to the Mannin line over the last 3 weeks about repatriation and not one was read out or questioned, it seems like they only want questions that suits him.

The key worker cannot go to work the next day. Listen again. Key worker doesn't have to go to the Comis, but does have to self isolate and has been made aware of the penalties.

I'm not saying it's right or that I agree with the disparity in treatment, but saying that the key worker can go to work the next day after arrival is incorrect.

My granddaughter obtained Cabinet Office approval to travel as a key worker - joining IOM Constabulary -  she has just completed two weeks self isolating at my address where she intends to reside permanently.

If they had any sense while we’re all in lockdown looking for content to consume they should release it all on Podcast as a fitting tribute. Perhaps “Manx Radio the Buster years”? If they still have the Marge Joughin tapes that would be even better.

    And Dorothy from Peel.

Someone should tell Ronaldsway because the flight is open for check in according to the board.

Website says suspending from this evening so I suspect this flight will get away although the arrival one due at 1625 is cancelled..

Has anyone received a letter informing them that the repeat drug they are prescribed has changed to another.

I have Type 2 Diabetes the drug prescribed to control the problem has been changed by the Dept of Health.

Yes. Replacement for metformin. 1000mg twice a day rather than 2x500 twice a day metformin.
