  1. The first head to roll should be that of Cregeen and then some others from Bus Vannin . What crap from him about our roads being the problem. This was known from the outset. Even the present buses have problems with some roads e.g. Castletown in vicinity of Castle/Glue Pot area. Let's have full disclosure of how much this useless exercise/experiment has cost us.
  2. Not until he's retired and drawing a fat pension and all the 'skeletons' in the cupboard will no longer be a problem for him. Same for one or two more in Government.
  3. They may cost more than a holiday from Manchester but they are still budget holidays whichever way you look at it. Does the in-flight food come served in a tinfoil tray with plastic knives and forks or does it come on china plates with metal cutlery? Are you offered a hot cotton towel after your meal, or do you have a single wet wipe that came with the milk and sugar in a plastic bag? Are the seats comfortable enough to sit in for long periods and can you stand up from a window seat and walk past the person sitting in the isle seat without causing them to stand up and get out of your way? Or are your legs pressing against the seat in-front? I have not been on a direct island holiday flight but I would guess that the latter, above descriptions, describe the flight arrangements which are how budget holiday flights are. If one of our MHKs gets involved in this non event they should hang their head in shame............................... Perhaps you should try one BR and then you would be in a position to comment from previous experience. I had no bad experiences with the 6 direct holidays I have made to Madeira. The only criticism I had on three of them was that they were not "Direct" and the tour operators had not advised me of this. Miss selling in my book. The best charter airline used was Monarch.
  4. "Cheapskate" "skinflint". - have you seen the price of these holidays? This particular trip short changed people in the fact that departure was pm and not am as previous trips and the return was am and not pm. In effect only a 6 day holiday. For that reason I didn't book this one and in hindsight a wise move bearing in mind the delay etc. I note that the next one on 28th is going via Belfast for re fuelling - a wise move (this happened on one of the previous trips I made).
  5. I don't know what point you're trying to make here Hboy. Could you explain what you mean ? I'm just sick of reading about the whinging moaning bastards on the flight and listening to calls for the likes of Cretney to do something. Do what? If they got a cheapo Jet2 from Blackpool they could have had just as many problems. Just because this happened at Ronaldsway why are we supposed to give a rats ass? It was a cheap direct flight that didn't go to plan so its the airlines fault and what you get when you pay 50p to go on holiday. I feel sorry for the other people holidaying in Madeira having to put up with a bunch of whinging moaning Manx skinflints harping on about compensation and about ringing their MHK who will sort this out. Well said that man.
  6. I see Richmond Travel are advertising holiday for 28th October as going out via Belfast! A wise move.
  7. All experience/advice taken on board. Many thanks. Will NOT be engaging their services!
  8. +1 Wouldn't be from Castletown by any chance where there are already enough booze outlets!!!
  9. All fully boxed and in mint condition: 1. James Bond Aston Martin DB5 2. 1955 Oldmobile Super Eight Eight 3. 1927 Coca Cola Delivery Truck 4. 1928 Coca Cola Delivery Truck £110 each o.n.o
  10. Wouldn't mind so much having to pay the licence fee if we could receive the FULL range of Freeview channels.
  11. Have used this "direct" holiday on 6 occasions in the past - fortunately not his time! On three of the trips we re-fuelled at Belfast, Liverpool and Cork. Only added up to two hours extra on the trip. Return always direct. On each occasion of the re-fuel passengers were not notified until actually on board. This holiday should never in the future be advertised as direct but if it is a caveat should be added that there may have be a stop for re-fuelling. Better to safe than sorry or dead in the water!! Several different charters have been used in the past and the best was Monarch. Really like Madeira but in future will fly to Birmingham and overnight - also have a 10 night holiday. The IOM departure airport surcharge is astronomical for this charter - plane comes in empty and leaves empty on the two legs. Atlantic Holidays are really at fault for not factoring in what could happen with weather flight load etc. from past experience. And we paid how many £millions to extend the runway!!!!!!!!!
  12. Has anyone used EPS (Isle of Man) Limited for applying exterior protection work? Any views on such a system they use and quality of work/finish would be appreciated.
  13. Same thing happened to me recently when buying a paper at Gatwick. Asked for my boarding pass. All part of a snooper's charter/big brother tracking system? My wife held the pass. I made a suitable cryptic remark and I was grudgingly allowed to purchase paper without boarding pass.
  14. Why should anyone have to get one just to suit Government diktat? Then you get one, simples.
  15. And if you haven't a bank/building a/c??????????
  16. Needed new cooker - old one 15 years service. Looked on line Wednesday evening for local options and what had been said on this thread. Plumped for a visit to Marown TV yesterday afternoon. Very impressed with range on display and helpful advice. Made a purchase. Delivered and installed by 10 am this morning. That's what I call good service which has a well established back up reputation if required.
  17. Licence for Castletown refused yet again today. Views please.
  18. Wouldn't mind a bit of Miley tomorrow on a 'big' birthday!!!!!!
  19. Desktop Windows 7. Sound has suddenly dropped off. Any advice/suggestions to rectify. All other sites including radio streaming work perfectly.
  20. Can anyone loan me a CD of Rod Stewart's 'Sailing' for Thursday service. Message me please if you can. Thanks in anticipation.
  21. Irish result due later today re referendum on abolishing their upper House. I think we should have a similar referendum. A good money saving exercise if it was abolished here. Less snouts in the trough. Government would (should) work just as well without it. Views please.
  22. If it has a Buddy Holly theme (old fella that I am) I may well pay it a visit.
  23. Cover yourself up woman!! Spectrum Windows in Ramsey highly recommended - Chris ot Pat 817777
