  1. Pity he can’t get TT somewhere into the application, the muppets running the Island would be bending over backwards to pass it then! Shame about the golf course, loved to play there before it closed.
  2. If you are with Sure you may find that your internet location is now Guernsey for some reason, mine is and causing me problems with some sites. Not saying that is the reason for google, just a possibility. Can’t offer a solution yet as it is on my list of jobs for today to sort out with them, will update! - solution, turn off router for 20 mins, restart and should give iom ip address, may not be a solution to your problem, just a possibility!
  3. I will have to make sure that I have adequate overdraft facilities if I go then or perhaps the prices will be realistic, not like their other establishments.!
  4. I live in Peel, have been 3 times to see if it got any better and have been disappointed with what I got for the high prices. Won’t be going again, I can cope with not being seen in the ‘go to place in Peel’.

    4 New MLCs

Skelly and Beecroft must be certs under the old pals system, they did it with Crookall and Anderson when it became pretty obvious that they didnt stand a chance of being re-elected as MHK's.
  6. This topic on Facebook is a good reason not to use Facebook. The treatment of Stu Peters by the women on there has been outrageous and unwarranted, total attention seeking!
  7. More of my rates money wasted, they kept this quiet until after the elections.
  8. Where? If you can't back this statement up with facts I take it you are a Disgruntled Hanson supporterIf it is true then he will fit in well with the others in Tynwald
  9. Nothing will change as long as Bell and Teare are running the country, the other MHKs may as well not bother turning up
  10. If Hanson gets in at Peel, last one out in the West please turn off the lights!
  11. I recently had the 'pleasure' of going to the Port Erin subway and felt like I was in an episode of Shameless, especially when I was treated to a loud conversation regarding the toddler of one girl 'doing a poo' while I had my lunch! Won't be rushing back!
  12. Good post. They are there to represent the people. But hey, they just look like they are there to look after the interests of the big boys and the gang and the interests of themselves. Back on topic, I am sure Phil will do the best thing because he does ploughing matches and speaks Manx and plays Manxie tunes on the fiddle and does all that sort of stuff. He will do what is best for the environment and people of the Isle of Man. For sure. I look forward to see him sinking into the silt in a few years when he is in a ploughing match on that field and has forgotten where it is.
  13. That's two of us, or 3 if you count Mrs. The cafes and shops we used to visit on a day out will now have to do without us. Well said, this lot haven't a clue, what about some wage cuts for them if they are that concerned about costs. What is next for us pensioners who have paid into the coffers for years, I dread to think!
  14. This ties in with the thread nicely about dim Tim, the Peel MHK, even though the hole is not in his constituency but very close and the wagons will no doubt be dumping this liquid stuff on the roads out of Peel on their way, he has said nothing. Neither has his neighbour in Glenfaba, it has been up to the Commissioners to create a stink (no pun intended). Is Anderson going to speak out or not? hang on though, didn't he put his name forward for Leg. Co like dim Tim? The West is doomed!!
  15. He has well and truly shot himself in the foot saying he is still committed to his constituency. I have lived in Peel for many years and am still waiting to see or even hear what he has done for the town apart from occasionally wandering around trying to look important. It would be good for him to come on here and have the balls to tell us! I didn't vote for him in either of his elections and don't know anyone else who will admit to having done so. It appears he just wants the soft option now (and probably the money that goes with it, better than a posties wage no doubt)
  16. I agree, if this continues I will be moving from Wimanx to Sure, if I am going to have crap broadband I may as well pay Sure a lot less for the privilege, they can give me VDSL for £21.95 with a free home phone, £13 cheaper than Wimanx!
  17. Nor most of the new estates in Peel either, bit of a con really!
  18. I think I will avoid Peel Shopshite today, don't want to get trampled in the rush for bargains!
  19. I have just changed my mobile over to them and found the service, both on the phone and the staff at the shop excellent, not like when I went into the MT shop, asked a question and was told to look on the web site! Unfortunately I am still under contract for my broadband until this time next year but if their service on the phone continues to be good, I will be looking at changing then. Hopefully there will be an offer then!!
  20. 17.7 down and 1.2 up, a good day today, will have to leave Peel and move to Saddlestone!
  21. What were you on before the profile changes? My speeds were good enough to justify the cost back then. The Fritzbox is usually stable as anything, but it might also be the new version of the FritzOS causing trouble. I'm going to try and sort it in 3 weeks time when I'm back on the Island. Not as much as yours only 1-2 meg but it is weekend!! It is the dropouts over the last couple of weeks that are starting to pee me off.
  22. I am down to 17 with mine, like you AcousticallyChallenged it isn't much better than ADSL. I knew when I had it connected that I wouldn't get the full 40 but for the difference in cost I am now beginning to wonder if it is worth it. When it was installed I asked the engineer whether there would be a possibility of a fibre box at the top of Peel where the new houses are being built as they are further from the exchange than I am but he didn't think it would be likely. I have also been getting a lot of dropouts recently (could this be the Fritzbox?) which I very rarely had before, if you have any luck with Wimanx increasing your speed can you let me know please and I will get onto them also, don't want to harass Matty too much!! I think this is where Bluewave seem to be doing well, a friend of mine has it nearby and is getting almost 40, unfortunately I have trees in the way!
  23. Sorry to drag this topic up again but I am considering moving to Sure from MT, due mainly to MT's high cost of data on PAYG and better flexibility on free calls. Is anyone still experiencing signal problems or have they been improved? Many thanks for any advice
