I must admit I found the survey very strangely worded. I do myself listen to Manx Radio, mainly for the news, and Stu Peters when I get the chance. However I have to say, the questions were very poorly phrased and structured.
The questions assumed everyone filling in the survey listened to every radio station on the Island. Hence I guess why the majority of responses for 3FM/Energy sit in the Neutral space, i.e the people answering the particular question didn't actually listen to them, maybe only Manx Radio?
I myself only listen to Manx Radio and Energy FM, however I had to answer and rate Three FM? Where is the logic in that? Surely a 'I don't listen to this station or N/A' would have been suitable to give a more accurate measure. Plus no doubt a certain percentage of people completing the survey will have put negative feedback for a station they might just dislike for various other reasons. I.E a 50/60 Year Old who is a loyal Manx Radio listener may never listen to anything else, and hate 'modern music', so might just put negative scores down for everything but Manx Radio.
It is a shame as it would have been good for Manx Radio RAJAR 'doubters', to have been been proven wrong, and to prove that MR is doing a good job, as I think they do. However I have to be honest in my analysis as I have some expertise in this subject, and I don't believe the survey proves a great deal, for 2 main reasons. 1) It looks like only Manx Radio listeners completed it (poor targeting), 2) Poor/amateur structuring (which leaves it open for criticism)
