It gives me no pleasure whatsoever to leave this site for good. There have been times I enjoyed some of the banter with those that manage to converse without foul language and abuse. However there appear to be more and more of the opposite ilk, and this recent discussion has brought them to the fore. I accept Stus apology , and hope he has learned from this. So sad that there are ( probably only a small number ) contributors whose sole reason for being on here is to abuse others. Incidentally this time I really do mean goodbye , I have returned a couple of times in the past, in the hope that a bit more decency and sensible discussion may have appeared. Sadly I was wrong. Goodbye

I cannot believe that this disgusting comment has been allowed on here. As far as Peters is concerned I'm not the least bit surprised. He is an individual who appears to take glee in upsetting and annoying almost everyone he can. I think it's a disgrace that our National Radio Station allows his bigoted and at times , appaling bile to be inflicted on the Islands residents. God knows what people listening off Island think of this trash. If Manx Radio have not got the guts to sort him out , the Government should. Sadly other Low Life's have come out in support of this awful man , using Manx Forums for their dreadful opinions. Remove this if you have any decency about you.

I think the World Leader reference will have been inserted by Manx Radio. Looking after their Paymaster and his ego. Gone now though, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou

Dear God can't whoever it is that's responsible for this stuff get rid of these plainly very troubled individuals.

Are you suggesting Nobles Park should be concreted over ? Fine plan, mabye we could to the same with Douglas Bay thereby solving the parking problem, creating a mile long berth for Cruise Liners, and we could befriend the Chinese again by ordering a couple of billion of those nice grey blocks to cover the whole thing. I recommend it to The House , and can't believe none of our potential MHKs have thought of the idea. We could of course just leave Nobles Park alone, for the enjoyment of Sports people and children with their families. Which I believe was Nobles plan.

And giving Tax Holidays to anyone who will come here. Nearly everything the Government try , has been tried in England previously ( or on occasion Ireland ) I have not heard the ever popular anti Tourism quote ' nobody comes to places like the IOM anymore, they all go to Spain ' from any potential MHKs as yet. A comment trotted out by Government and certain sectors of our economy to excuse the decimation of an industry , that gladly is slowly recovering , despite Govs lack of interest

Don't tell us , you have also been a Book Critic. How long did that ' career ' last ?

OMG, don't tell us ? - In the past you have also been a Film Producer. Incredible. Nope, never shot on film. Have written, shot, directed and/or produced numerous broadcast TV programmes and corporate videos though. I know it grates on you that I've achieved lots of things in life, sadly I don't know how little you've achieved to be able to compare (although I can guess). Woody2 - any port in a shitstorm eh? How predictable. Used to be the case that people who had tried endless different jobs , were thought of as ' master of none ' . In reference to my Job or the inflated ' career ' ( as insecure people call it these days ) I managed to survive in one job for 45 years. I was not, and never aspired to be the Top Man , but I was good enough to hold that job down all my working life , mostly happily . I consider myself one of the lucky ones. Paid ALL my Taxes and stamps, and have no guilt about the Pension I receive . I think I earned it. Pretty sure you said, last week, that you were NOT retired ! Are you not sure? Depends on the intelligence of the person I'm responding to

Thankfully there only appear to be 3 or 4 ' thinkers ' contributing to this offensive tripe

It doesn't cost 4k a day so that appears to be a silly question. As usual How much then ? £ 800,000 divided by 365 is between 2 and 3 thousand a day , is that more acceptable , or will you find a way to call that silly as well. I'm not 100% sure of the ' hand- out ' but it think it's around that mark. I am sure you can give us the exact figure , and are more than capable of dividing it by 365. I am about to return to my abacus and chalk board to check my figures, I am after all Manx so need extra time for such things.

I am led to believe that next years MGP Races may take place before the Manx Motorcycle Race weekend. Reliable source, does anyone know anything about this ? Is it a plan to shorten the Meeting ?

And that just confirms my suggestion, that temper will be the death of you

And why does it have to be big ? Is it to conform with today's ' in people ' who according to the mass of housing programmes on TV demand masses of light and masses rooms, just like their offices. Small cosy Pubs , ( dimly lit usually ) but often full of atmosphere are very rare now. Doesn't mean they wouldn't work, problem is everyone seems to be catering for a generation of people who are happy ? To sit at home with a can of Supermarket ale and stare at a hand held device. ' Social Skills ' ? I think they are gone. I still along with many others enjoy a pint and a natter in a reall Pub. It doesn't cost the world if you only do it a couple of times a week, and don't drink at home. Give it a try, you may enjoy it
