Speed limits must be introduced sooner rather than later
bill5 replied to manx maid's topic in Local News
I would disagree with your description of the "national" limits as acceptable as globally they display a significant degree of arbitrary-ness (sorry), e.g. limits.jpg Many have been in place for over 40 years and, being generous, they were possibly set with reference to the capabilities of vehicles of the day - tyre, braking, suspension, relaibility and overall performance characteristics have improved dramatically since then. Finally, limits do not take into account conditions. As I alluded to in a previous post, in extreme fog a self-imposed limit of 25-30 mph on derestricted Io -

You're reading things that aren't there. The space is not non-existent. There is no "barging". Funnily enough different situations require different behaviour, who knew?! Your posts smack of someone who's upset that bikers can skip queues and you can't. You realise that it cuts down on congestion vs being in a car, or staying in the queue on a bike, right? It's benefiting you too. Try not to get your knickers in such a twist. Nobody would be upset if every one just displayed some courtesy. Bikers seem to think they have a right to be in front of a car. Who was that? You can't mean Corkill, Gelling or Brown, as Bell is worth 10 of them put together.! Agree.

He could always redeem himself some day. I live in hope that when Big Al finally retires he could run with headlines of something like "Bell ends long political career" and see if he could just right it off as their usual sloppy standards of practice."W "Right it off". You don't work for Johnson Press by any chance?

I can't see 300 thousand being too much of a problem for Buster unless he's managed to magic his assets away to some awful tax haven.

He comes across as a silly old twat. It's amazing that IOM Newspapers have gone with this as a regular thing. It's like watching someone in an old peoples home bash out a random, boring, monologue, on an ancient typewriter to be posted to the local council about dog shit or parking permits or some such other irrelevant matter. Isn't that Cringle?
