  5. Apologies for another shameless plug but several months back Martin at Bushys tasked me with getting something a little different to celebrate the 20th year on the Bottleneck car park for him and his brand. Pleased to say Triskel managed to persuade Ian Broudie & LIGHTNING SEEDS to open the fortnight of 40 acts there and at Port Erin beach. The link pretty much reiterates this and more detail on when, where and how to sort tickets. Shifted half of the tickets in the first day which is most impressive.Thanks. http://www.triskelpromo.com/bushys-20th-anniversary-2017/ Direct ticket link as only available online: https://www.tickettailor.com/all-tickets/22645/0bbb/

  8. Barely a few weeks away from the best fortnight of the Isle of Man and of course the best motorcycle race in the World! BUSHYS celebrate 30 years of brewing the finest Ales. Bushys Beer Tent celebrates 18 years at the Bottleneck car park. Triskel Promotions celebrate 14 years of production of the bands for the tent and beach. This year we welcome Main Sponsor CAROLE NASH who head the Main Stage at the Tent. COLAS are our new sponsors of the Beach Stage Port Erin. We also welcome Suzuki and SURE Mobile. Posters have again been designed and edited by Martyn Cain. We will provide daily updates and are working on a link of a run down of all the bands scheduled to play over the 2 weeks.Whilst every effort is made to keep the information correct it is as always, subject to change. Please feel free to share this and suggest friends to add and we will do the rest!
  9. Now in its 14th year, with 55 individual dips under their belt the SOUTHERN DIPPERS are pleased to announce the 2015 New Years Day Dips. To date the SOUTHERN DIPPERS have raised in excess of £37,000 for a number of charities over the years and the group are happy to announce the 2015 chosen charity will be for MANX BREAST CANCER SUPPORT GROUP. 2014 saw some of the stormiest weather to hit the Island in 50 years and for the first time in its short history, Chapel Beach had to be cancelled but Port St Mary’s Harbour was done twice. The group has grown from the 7 in 2002 to well over 200 dippers for the finale at Port Erin last year, where creative fun fancy dress is the order of the day and a swift hot/cold drink in the nearest hostelries. The landlords have always been so welcoming considering their late night New Year’s Eve events but every year they welcome us back. This year one of the original 7 swimmers, Paddy Croft opens the doors of THE FISH HOUSE after the first swim for a cup of his famous fish soup. Kay, Pat and Hannah at the Albert are on hand to serve refreshments at the Albert after the 2nd swim. Mark, Debbie and Andy at the Shore provide Hot Chocolates and home made cookies for the 3rd swim at Gansey whilst Debbie, Martin, Marcel, Matt and team welcome everyone to the finale outside the Bay Hotel for the final lunge! This years cash prizes for best fancy dress are being donated by Marcel Ltd. The theme is open so be as imaginative as you dare! Sponsors for this years dip, without who this would not be possible are POKERSTARS/DOMICILIUM/SURE MOBILE/THE FISH HOUSE/QUINE&CUBBON/SOUTHERN CHRONICLE Sponsor forms will be available from the Event Organiser and SURE MOBILE Port Erin Office (including a SURE goodie bag) and THE FISH HOUSE Port St Mary. Bucket collections will take place at all the entry points. SOUTHERN DIPPERS are always looking for sponsors to come on board and help safeguard the worthwhile fundraising in this novel fun way. Any interested parties please contact Lenny Conroy below. 13. Actually, RG appeared in late '94, early '95, along with Mungo Gerry and some others of that era. Hot Chocolate also, IIRC. He died in june '95. Exceptional feel on the guitar. Curious to know more about the RG gig.I recall there being a bit of a stir that tickets were sold for the show but were bogus or something.(Streeetlight Promotions in London-yellow ticket,am sure there was something like, sure he was ill but was never actually "booked" to play) Indeed he did take ill and I had a ticket for the Fleadh at Finsbury park I guess in '94 where he pulled out due illness and was lost the following year. That said Shane MacGowan also was too ill to perform one year but back then it was hard to know when he was fit enough even!
