  1. After many months planning my first budget, and countless sleepless nights about how to justify my reasoning, I thought "sod it, if more coins land heads up, I'll put up tax rates, if tails up, I'll cut personal allowances, and if they balance on their edges I'll do something to help the working men and women".

  2. Bell talks through his arse I'm afraid - he's been doom monger in chief for IOMG since about 1992. He is completely incapable of making decisions or of accepting criticism so it will be interesting to see what hard decisions he actually makes. Also this new rainbow alliance (which sounds a bit bent in itself) is simply a way of him spreading blame outside of COMIN when tough things start to happen - now everyone is collectively responsible for shitty decisions made not just the CM and COMIN.

If Ding Dong or any other members of our parliament were capable of making their owns decisions, we wouldn't be paying a f*****g fortune on consultants to carry the can!
  3. I honestly think it will create more parking, before this, people used park about 6 feet away from one another and take up double the spaces. Let's be honest, if you can't manage to park correctly using the new scheme, maybe you need further tuition or it's time to hang up your keys!

  4. I've always gone along with supporting Ramsey Bakery, thinking if ever the boats didn't sail, at least we could have bread. Given the prices charged by them, I can't see any reason why the yeast can be flown in (business class). But if Jimmy Duncan now says he can't do the job without the boats (piss poor forward planning), why have I bothered all these years. As far as I'm concerned he's shot himself in the foot with this statement. No more Ramsey Bakery bread for me!

  5. And that is exactly why he might want to go for it. The CM post would be his political swansong.

I did hear that he was all for not standing this time around, but changed his mind in the last 6 months or so. That could well be bullshit of course, but I was inclined to believe the source.

If Allan Bell became Chief Minister, would the royal anthem (God save our gracious Queen) take on a new significance?

  6. Bell & Craine clearly supporting local businesses, surprised that Singer chose not to do so.

John McDonough also got his stuff printed in Ramsey, I received mine through the door about a month ago!

some of Anne Craines posters were printed in Douglas I saw them being delivered in Ramsey

    by a Douglas printing company.

After listening to Manx radio broadcast from Ramsey it was obvious that Bell / Craine arguments had little foundation

as there was panic in their replies when put under pressure.

The big scary posters of Anne Craine I've seen around Ramsey all have'printed by Ramsey Press'. If not printed there, isn't that at best misleading, at worst a lie?

  7. I agree, MB - a complete waste of money. All so Bell can say he has done something for Ramsey! As if he hasn't wasted enough cash over the years.

Apparently, Mr Bell thinks a lot of a well presented back passage!
