  1. You mentioned Greta Thunderberk she claims she has the virus....anything to get attention
  2. I have just listened to David Ashford on Manx Radio and well done to him , clear, consistent and answered all the questions put to him with certainty. Glover tried to mix the pot, what a surprise trying to twist words and be clever but David very politely put him in his place. The new help line is welcome and hopefully take pressure off the 111line. A very good and informative session.
  3. Most of the motorists passing seem to be abiding by the 40 mph rule, pity it is a 20mph zone. Speed limits are not enforced over here, they used to be but this side of law has been neglected badly over the years.
  4. If this was today the scaffolders should not be erecting anything, that scaffolding will probably be up until Xmas now, it amazes me how long scaffolding is left in place after the job is done and it costs a fortune.
  5. I thought no one was to get in after today, what is the point of closing the border and then letting any sob story creep in.
  6. On a little walk this morning, on my own and keeping a safe distance from others I was really disappointed, there are still people out there that believe social distancing does not apply to them. I do not know how the government or anyone can be clearer that this is our best chance to get through this with minimal pain. The people I observed were not children or young adults. I came back feeling that with this sort of mentality we are well and truly f....d.
  7. Paul Moulton is dire, stupid questions that often answers have already been given to .
  8. They messed up today at 4.00 pm silence for about three minutes , talk about Michael Mouse operation.
  9. The TV phone and laptops make me happy.
  10. I think Howard Quayle is doing a great job, totally uncharted waters I wonder how many of the posters making snide remarks would cope ?
  11. Well the pension is going up a few quid but taking all these increases into account we will be worse off. I feel for the little families who have all these increases to contend with without any increase in wages. In fact I feel for everyone today, when the MHKs nod these increases through perhaps they should remember we are not all on fifty grand plus a year.
  12. It was David Christian leader of Douglas Town council who made this crass statement cannot be sacked. I heard this morning there is a confirmed case today, the person who told me is totally reliable, health worker. Manx Radio forgot to mention this in the news.
  13. I listened to this and thought it was well presented at least Andy Wint does not force his own opinions on you under the guise of playing devils advocate. There were some really sound views on the show with 90% of callers saying the TT should be called off now with many different reasons but on the news they played it as if they had had loads of people phoning in against the idea, in fact two complaining about the likehood lived in Ireland . Typical Manx Radio reporting.
  14. Clueless absolutely clueless and the money that they are on ..........would not last a month in the private sector.
  15. It was not the prince of darkness who was proudly saying how he had got the crem sorted out it was David Christian the P of D was banging on about the TT is months off ....must have gone to school with Diane Abbot it is about 10 weeks off that is all. Talk about living in La La land the self denial of this government is unbelievable, it had a chance to be proactive but dithered, no leadership, none, money is their god..
  16. I think you are confusing the one who talked gobble gook on the radio with the new head of Noble’s, different person.
  17. There are a lot of people who rent out their houses and apartments for TT and go on holiday, now there is a ban on entering so many countries and holidays are being cancelled what happens now ? Do they cancel the bookings ?
  18. I now notice various events being cancelled on MR. This is a time the nation’s station could shine and keep the public informed, especially the golden generation who look as if they are going to be under house arrest in the not so distant future, about events and even have a help line going. Keeping people’s spirits up especially those who are frail and unsure would be a great way forward. A lot of people are not on Facebook and need contact with what is going on.
  19. All this talk from Ashford about the TT being months away is crap from next weekend in 8 weeks time it will be the 17th of May when things will start getting ramped up, I am not sure of the exact dates of T.T. but months away it is not. This is more smoke and mirrors talk and a strong desire to blame cancellation on anyone or everyone else except them. I keep expecting someone to blame brexit they just will not face up the their responsibilities, pathetic and week.

    Airline

There is an airline advertising on Facebook cheap flights to Liverpool and Manchester, are they for real or just a scam ?
  21. I cannot see the hospitals across, where we usually send our seriously injured riders and fans to would have the space to accommodate them. It is crazy this hanging back from making a decision, shameful. If the government think there would be a national outcry on cancellation think again a lot of people on the Island detest the races, a lot just accept them as a fact of life there are fewer fans than you think. A lot of businesses would be really badly off if they were cancelled but a lot suffer because of the races as locals tend to keep off the roads. It would not be the end of the world.
  22. It has just been announced that Boris has decreed that all crowd based meetings will be regulated from next weekend over 500 being the call. I expect an announcement on Monday from our lot mirroring this decision. A decision will be welcome.
  23. David is only spouting what he has been told to say from whoever is pulling the strings, I am betting it is Cannon. We should be looking toward Ireland if this incompetent lot cannot think for themselves and make decisions. Schools should be closed, large gatherings, over 500, banned and the TT cancelled. Proactive is apparently a word that they are not familiar with but we know that already. Dead fro m the neck up is being kind. Golden oldies should be asked to be careful and cut down contact as much as it possible. Telephone your elderly friends and family and encourage them to keep contact with their friends by phone a chat will keep them upbeat. Hopefully the weather will improve and fresh air is good those fortunate enough to have a garden should sit out or just potter. Common sense is our ally in this war, unfortunately there is not a lot around these days but this is one thing oldies have in their favour. Good luck everyone x
  24. If the virus does not stop it the shortage of marshalls will.
