  1. just had my new uk passport come through the door today. applied on line filled all the forms in, they sent them out to me at iom address to check them. sent them back with old passport and new photos and five weeks later it dropped through door. no problems what so ever about where i live.
  2. This thing is a joke longworth is taking the tax payer for a ride. And our government are saying come on do it some more. The diesel engine is too heavy for the track every time it goes out it pushes the tracks out of line. Hence why they are renewing the track with concrete sleepers. Not very heritage and costing more taxpayers money. The diesel was too long to fit over the points in Port Erin and Douglas stations to turn it. Hence the track extension in port Erin station so it can turn round, more cost to the tax payer. It’s a diesel which operates an air operated breaking system. so it can’t operate steam operated breaks that are on the heritage carriages. That it was bought to pull. So more cost to the tax payer to put a second air operated system on the carriages to make it safe to operate. Or are they planning on pulling the carriages without break’s. they were before it broke down, with the carriages break’s not operating. And relying on the diesel engines breaks. Which would put more stress on the brakes of the diesel and the engine. and possibly overheating the engine causing it to break. Which has happened. Would some of what has been said not invalidate any manufacturer warranty? so as Mr. Longworth has said it won’t cost the tax payer a penny. it will they has misused the engine.and if the manufacturer found out they wont pay for repairs. So what was to cost £300.000 with all the extras that have to be put in place for it to work what is the real prise to the tax payer? That question Longworth wont say. Longworth is spend spend .and along with all his management team has been given a pay rise to do it. A PUBLIC ENQUIRY SHOULD BE DONE ON THE ISLE OF MAN TRANSPORT AND LONGWORTH AND HIS MANAGERS .his department have spent not saved. His a con man and getting away with it. thanks to the dim wit cregeen who Believes everthing he says.
  3. good news finally longworth didnt get his own way. but that does explain why when i came back on the boat last night 2 brand new silver volvo double decker buses, with bus vannin logos on them where on the loading deck. so he still has money to buy new buses. and cregeen is still saying they have to make cuts and savings.
  4. you have all Forgotten one thing what longworth wants longworth gets. no one say's no to the man. and when people do stand up and say enough is a enough. Ie the drivers. he gets you lot to do his dirty work for him and turn on them. when this ticket system Was first talked about in tynwald it was £300.000 he wanted but now he wants £400.000 why the extra money. is to pay for the extra money to pay for the Extend railway track's in port erin station so the new diesel train can now fit over the points. or is for the bendy buses that no one wants. and still now news on the Survey on them. this man is spend spend spend, not save save save. and the only people that are going to benefit from all this will be his friends who come in and buy the island's transport business. not the isle of man tax payer
  5. The only fraud going on is longworth. Not only is he wasting money on a ticket system that if he paid the £80.000 for the soft ware up date, for the system he has to make it fit for purpose. He has just spent £7.000 for a coffee machine, £20.000 on crockery, and £2.000 for a carpet. All for a newly built dining car for the railway. And a lot more money on converting the railway station in Douglas to except the new car. To get the food to and from train. But Mr. cregeen and Longworth still say they have to save money and still no answer from cregeen as to why the operations manager bus vannin mr cartwright has been sacked. by keeping quiet mr cregeen it just adds to the rumours that something nastie is going on and a police are involved.
  6. no they dont .if they go sick on rostared saturdays or sundays they get standard rate. not the premium rate. and if it was a rest day.they where working they dont get paid, as it was overtime.
  7. think you will find every driver has put in for unfair dismissal cbman. so with your shit stirring you keep doing as i've asked before what part of the DCCL OR government do you work for? and for your information why are the DCCL trying to bribe the driver's with £100 to stop them from making the claim. its a case of drop the claim we will give you £100 dont and we wont. so if they are in the right with what they have done why offer the money. makes you think does it not.the only ones in that department that should be sacked is longworth and black and cregeen should loose his minister job.and carwright should go back to arriva where he came from. his that thick he has tried to do a bus time table from google maps. because he does not have a clue where the buses go on the isle of man . and thats fact.
  8. i think you will find you are doing your C licence before you do your C+E licence. as patrick has rightly said HGV AND LGV are the same.and point to note. a PSV & PCV test or over here PPV test is a harder test than the HGV test FACT. and as i've said before the wages quoted as bus drivers wages across. are starting wages, as you have to pay the bus company back your PCV training cost's. through your wages. as you are paid by the bus company while training. it is normal to be on the lower pay scale's for about 3 years. if you leave the company before the cost of training is made back you have to pay the company the differance. this amount goes down each year up to the 3 year mark. then you can walk away without paying a penny back. or then you go onto the top rate of pay scales. witch is not far behind the bus vannin drivers. and the drivers across get time and half rate overtime. bus vannin drivers do not get overtime rate's. so there end of year wages are the same or if not more than bus vannin drivers. I've got more than a few options, but AFAIK Bus Vannin don't offer any training scheme? haven't seen any other companies advertise either? Always something to fall back on and something I wanted to start when I was 21 and never did! thats my point bus vannin drivers go to the company with the PPV LICENCE. so the dont have to pay training cost's back. that's why they are paid the higher rate. and once you start to drive larger Vehicles. you will see how hard it is to drive HGV and PCV vehicals. and the differance between a lorry and a bus is if you muck up or are involved in a RTA. the load you are carrying as a HGV wont get hurt! people around you might. but as a BUS your load is the people they can get hurt along with people around you. there is more Responsibly for your load. people are not seeing that. all they see is paid lunch break. that is why i stick up and defend the drivers. to answer your comment from earlier. once you start your training you might think differant or not.
  9. i think you will find you are doing your C licence before you do your C+E licence. as patrick has rightly said HGV AND LGV are the same.and point to note. a PSV & PCV test or over here PPV test is a harder test than the HGV test FACT. and as i've said before the wages quoted as bus drivers wages across. are starting wages, as you have to pay the bus company back your PCV training cost's. through your wages. as you are paid by the bus company while training. it is normal to be on the lower pay scale's for about 3 years. if you leave the company before the cost of training is made back you have to pay the company the differance. this amount goes down each year up to the 3 year mark. then you can walk away without paying a penny back. or then you go onto the top rate of pay scales. witch is not far behind the bus vannin drivers. and the drivers across get time and half rate overtime. bus vannin drivers do not get overtime rate's. so there end of year wages are the same or if not more than bus vannin drivers.
  10. He is MICHAEL CARTWRIGHT ex Arriva London Manager. He said what? See attached: great video wil. so mr cartwright cant tell the the truth then ether. if he say it does not happen in the uk.one thing what they are shouting we want £600 POUND so our drivers are not the highest then. how many more miss truths are being told by the DCCL.
  11. he was not a driver if you had heard the live live broadcast this morning. the interviewer did say it was a passer by potesting in support of the drivers. and i take it childrens safety is of no interest on this forum, as any unfit person is aloud to drive our kids. as my post has gone.
  12. Longworth has put 24hr security guards in port Erin Bus depot for the full 3 days strike. How much is that costing? And why? has he put them in any of the other bus depots.
  13. I think that there will be a lot of children not going to school on these bus's. the only thing that should be happening is our police checking that ALL passengers should be wearing the right type of seatbelt ! and as for standing passengers it makes me shudder to think about the injuries they could receive in an accident. who has done the risk assesment, The london bendy bus's were restricted to 20mph so that could upset all the timetables and how will they get in and out of the new transport interchange at the Ramsey tram station ? don't forget longworth wants the government to put the speed limit up to 50mph !
  14. Blade runner. The point I’m making is if there is a problem now on the road, due to ether a RTA or road work diversions. The Mercedes buses we have now block the roads up. Prime example of this, is the road works in onchan. When the road was completely closed and the buses had to divert up and down Alberta drive the most problems a curd with the Mercedes not the deckers turning onto Royal Avenue and at the top onto summer hill. Because of the turning circle. And there other places I could say. Or are we going to have a bus service that can only run when the roads are clear. We have already had the buses that could only run when it was not raining because they leaked. And as far as the driver’s local knowledge. With the casual driver’s, Not full time driver s they employing now local knowledge don’t matter. The school bus getting stuck under the bridge in laxey proves that .he was casual. And local. So stranger things can and may happen with bendy buses. And as far as contacting the control all I’ve ever heard them say to the driver, if his had a problem is Turn the bus off wait 5 minutes and try again. That will reset it. And when that doesn’t work they don’t know what to say. So all this we can look forward to with a bus double the size of the one’s we already have.
