  1. This sort of Manx Radio reporting worries me. No research, just taking an estate agents word for it...an estate agent! next to MHKs or journalists lol http://147-5433bc3297b05.radiocms.com/news/isle-of-man-news/housing-market-on-the-up/ Of course he's going to say such things after the official census figures show we are depopulating. That means too many houses for not enough people. Result price will remain soft for some time to come. Surely this kind of story needs balance? I do wonder why they seem to operate a 'cut and paste' newsroom!
  2. Can't tell you about the MTV thing as it's not available to most phone users as it runs on the very old standard of Flash. Think iPhones are ok.
  3. Its well been known that quite a few people at MT have been promoted above their skill levels and were destined to see their time out until a lovely pension came their way.
  4. So the Sefton group are going to sell the Castle Mona! http://www.manx.net/tv/mt-tv/watch/81001/sefton-group-part-two
  5. So MR.com tell us this tonight Of 64 hopefuls, only one prospective candidate in Ayre and Michael has not made the ballot paper. ...but they not name them! Why?
  6. Ramsey voters! You must see this to believe it. IMO his man is dangerous! http://www.manx.net/tv/mt-tv/watch/80453/ramsey-nick-crowe
  7. Just hearing that Alex Brindley is now in charge of the Nation Station. Many people working there are not happy.
  8. You have to remember Stu and Marc are big pals. They are even in a band together. Marc is just running the clock down to his retirement later this year when Ben Hartley will most likely be given the job over a mad Binlid. Oh and his first hiring will be Mr Tyley coming back as a freelance presenter.
  9. I understand the BBC gives Manx Radio £20,000 for the use of a room at Douglas Head and to use their news. They pay another £20,000 to produce some Manx language programmes which go out on medium wave in the evenings. Is this the best way for the licence fee to be used?
  10. It seems Manx Radio news are not going to report on the Ralph Peakes questions about what's going on up at Douglas Head. Not good that the management can stop the news team from covering this. Guess it's unlikely to make 'talking heads' as a subject even though there is interest in hearing from Mr Pugh about this. Wish the programme producer would put some interesting local subjects on the show rather than things available from the Sky feed. It's lazey and not good enough. If you want to hear what happened you do still have a chance. http://www.tynwald.org.im/business/listen/AgainFiles/5893a.mp3
  11. Good post Newsnight It does make you wonder about people to have a problems with gay topics still in this day and age
  12. Stu has just said on Talking Heads that if there is enough interest in the new building plans for Manx Radio he will get the boss on to talk about it. Yes please Stu! I'm slightly surprised that they didn't want to do this without getting people to write in. Looking forward to hearing what they need all that new space for, except the disability access situation etc.
  13. More on the building extension from IoM newspapers website. Bet they wish they could move in as well. Strange that Manx Radio don't seem to think it's news worthy! http://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/isle-of-man-news/broadcasting-house-could-get-extension-1-7727951
  14. Interesting to come across these plans to sizeably increase the Manx Radio building. It seems to show much more working area, and even a Green Room for guests. I'm struggling to think why, or how much money needs to be spent for just the current output. https://services.gov.im/planningapplication/services/planning/planningapplicationdetails.iom?ApplicationReferenceNumber=16/00105/B
  15. Thought it was a very poor interview. Why didn't they put more challenging questions to Skelly?
