  1. Haven read David Cretneys questions and answer forms he put on Facebook it would seem that we might be giving Dependability a rough ride..It seems to me after reading it several times and also accessing the incapacity to work regulations 1995 it seems it's our Social security dept whose rules Dependability are following....There's many people more learned and knowledgeable than me on here and would be interested to see if they come to the same conclusion as me!!
  2. David Cretney has just posted questions and answers received from Treasury social security officers regarding assessments and practices..Interesting reading. Some clear issues in the questions and answers...Somebody deemed fit for work by Dependability and put on JSA are expected to work 40 hrs a week... How is that going to be possible for so many !!
  3. Hasn't Murray Lambden requested information on the planning for the prom ! That will be interesting as to how they deal with that request !
  4. And expect the age old excuse to be brought out also.. No records can be found . My feeling is the govt shredder will have been working overtime over the last few months !! Just wait !
  5. Nutter might be a bit strong but certainly obsessive and if he gets his teeth into something he won't let go ! He has over the years saved millions in the department he ran by using that same stubbornness to fight a corner. Like I said he knows the legislation and people to ask in the right places. The main problem as I've said is he is too intense in to many areas. I believe he's currently got gripes against the Governor ,CM and many MHK's but surprisingly a few on his side too... I've been on the receiving end of him years ago and he doesn't take prisoners if you know him or not !! Sounds li
  6. I agree he was right on the pensions. He didn't take any shit off a recently deceased ultra high net worth developer either! Yes..they were in work permit days when his dept was tasked with enforcing the scheme. Which he did in his usual manner and caused all sorts of problems for the now deceased man. Actually a lot of his anger comes from those days I feel as he wasn't supported when suspended by his department. I think he had a point to as if anything he carried out his job according to the legislation which is a lot more than the most do nowadays.

  8. Yes you've for sure identified the very same. !! It is who you think it is as your brief description can only be the one and only !! He has got a bit carried away with personal issues but he as you say so well positioned to ask the questions. He is a massive pain in the butt in many ways but don't bet against him !! He's never wrong as he knows the rules etc and procedures ! Good luck to them catching him out...My guess is they will just ignore his correspondence as they have some legislation that allows that !! I was actually arguing against it. I think that sort of behaviour will just add to

  10. They've got us into this mess..it's sadly them and the people of the Isle of Man who will get us out of it. The first person to realise this and get the public on board and be honest and upfront will get my vote. Not much to ask is it. The kind of morals and honesty that we all grew up taking on board but some seem to have forgotten..
  11. Post 175 makes interesting reading too GC.... I don't have any problem with what you say and your correct in your observations and I agree that I could be a benefits scrounged. But I'm not and believe me the brief outline information contained in the post above is just that !! There's far more but I feel I probably bored people with that. I'm actually the opposite of what you think I might be and a very honest person and I guess old school in how I think. I also agree that having somebody assess claimants is likely needed but from what is said the interview and tests don't address many is
  12. There's was certainly a problem with health and safety and the custody block. Is it correct that the cells could not be used in Lord Street 'cos they were upstairs? As for the I think I was sent there one night to do a cleaning job or something. May have been to do with bins? Anyway, I was under the impression then that the vehicle bay at the back going in under the building was too small and narrow to take big white police vans? Presumably it was not allowed to haul drunks and hostiles up and down the stairs to and from the cells and likewise the van carrying them could
  13. Reading some of the comments on here make me realise how sad it is that there always seems to such a generalisation . The last comment....I cannot speak for others with a opinion on here but I really really love it if I could go out on Monday ,start a job and hold it down and be able to earn my crust. Something I've always done over and beyond in the past. I used to spend after working , up to 20 hours a week teaching and coaching with no renumeration and loved doing it. For some people it really isn't a cop out or swinging the lead but a real problem. As I've mentioned before I at my own ini
  14. PhotoMan.... I take it you have been deemed by Dependability as being fit for work!? . Have you actually tried to get a job? And how are potential employers viewing your history when considering you able to take up a job...And also what about work place insurance?
  15. Isn't there a planning issue with Lord street police station??!!!! As there is none !! Heard something a while back and that a lot to do with why it's closed..someone will know better than me
  16. I'm going to the Doctor early next week for some treatment for issues caused by my fatigue..Will see what I can find out from him and will let you all know and of course when the assessment procedure happens..I know lots of you will have a interest in what goes on...thanks for the conversation..believe it or not it helps !!
  17. Even though I understand what your saying I don't agree with this approach at all....it's wrong and believe me if I could I would work !! I don't want to live on £105 a week for the next 4 years..I've tried and had a relapse...at the moment I manage it and when feeling bad I don't do anything just stay in bed or the lounge..
  18. So why can recording or taking notes be a problem then ? Just saying..! What's there to hide?? And up to a few years ago I'd never claimed anything and not proud I have done now but when you live alone and after activity for as little as 2 hours you have to crawl up the stairs I'm afraid there grateful to anything that will help...Also I'm 62 now and have worked and payed in all my life and have never needed or wanted any easy ride. Sadly I have needed help and I've been very grateful for it but worry that this excise is going to add to my illness and set me back and that worries me as its so
  19. Well when mine comes up I've arranged for a ex police guy to come with me for support....I'm told you can't take notes etc which I think is so wrong ..
  20. I've been very fortunate, and I use that word deliberately, to have been on incapacity benefit for a number of years for a fatigue issue and to be honest without it I don't know what I would have done. The higher amount is £105 and while it's hard to live on this I can manage and as I said am very grateful to receive it. For 3 years now no heating has been on,on gas !!, and luckily I don't smoke and drink very occasionally when meet up with friends. Not often as my illness prevents me on so many occasions. I am worried sick about the assessment when it arrives as from what I've heard I'm sure
  21. Best case scenario, it will gradually encourage the average person to stop buying so much stuff which ends up getting thrown away. For example, significant numbers of people seem to live on pre-prepared factory food items sold in boxes. It's about fairness. If you use a service more then you should pay more towards it. Domestic bins should not need emptying every week. In some parts of the island the collection is twice a month. I agree completely however I don't think this is what there doing with the toilet tax that was and water usage !!
  22. Why would a admission of costs etc and numbers breach data protection..genuine question ??
  23. Your being far to kind.....he probably doesn't know and if he does he doesn't want to say as a shit storm will happen... As I've said else wear....it's like a secret society.....it's our money and they should be accountable at every stage...something that they have managed to avoid over the years....Transparency..your kidding !
  24. It's actually quite sad to listen to it all....Sadly Peter Karran hasn't the tools to back up or make a concise argument . But he at least tries . He does ask the questions that need asking but is too easily shut up....Oh for a credible and honest CM who would sort this absolute mess out...The latest suppression of the Planning report on the promenade being a case in point...Talk about a secret society....The government of the Isle of Man !!
  25. PhotoMan...I feel for you !! Respect to your honest post.
