  1. Bollocks. Music is absolutely essential to me right now during this stupid pandemic. What is the POINT of us even surviving a pandemic without music, art, literature -- culture???????
  2. Nationalism socialism (Nazism) is socialism. Its sole difference to other forms of socialism is that it is nationalist rather than internationalist, transnationalist, or communist.
  3. They did. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molotov–Ribbentrop_Pact
  4. My cat has been dead for a couple of years.
  5. A good question. If somebody said that about me, I'd take it as an insult. Generally speaking, "politics" is the art of manipulation and calculatedly whoring oneself out.
  6. I have a lot of food arriving in the mail from various places. Unfortunately, some of them won't arrive for maybe two more weeks. Some I ordered in late March and they should arrive this week. I have organic tomato ketchup supposedly arriving Wednesday and hopefully some of the rye bread I ordered will arrive during the week -- not sure though because the company has suspended their online store, temporarily, in order to keep up with demand and existing orders, and that was back on March 28th with no further emails advising of dispatches. They said an average of 7 to 10 day delay, followed by normal delivery time, which ought to mean the items will arrive this week, but the lack of a dispatch notification doesn't reassure me. I spent around £80 on that order and I'm now low on funds so if they're going to take so long I'd rather they just refund the money and admit they can't fulfill the delivery. I'm basically at a point where I've spent all my month's food money on food that has not yet arrived at my door. lol
  7. It isn't very reassuring that the most praiseworthy and Chief Minister material thing we can say about politicians is that they're capable of speaking.
  8. The irony is that in one post he called me a "paranoid lunatic" and in the next post he was complaining about Apple and Google potentially having total control of everyone's movements. Surely only paranoid lunatics would object to massive transnational corporations having total control of all our movements?
  9. Using the same contrived metric, one could say there is no such thing as an anatomically modern human; we're all "organisms" in one form or another.
  10. Lack of funding or connections to support relocation.
  11. Right, no joke but as far back as February I was trying to find tins of baked beans and also tinned potatoes and checking daily (more out of curiosity than anything else as I seldom eat either of those) and not once did I ever find any. It makes you wonder who was going and buying them all up at that time. Whoever it was, was doing it within a couple of hours of when they put their new delivery of produce on the shelves. I haven't been there since March so can't confirm if this is still the situation -- is anybody able to confirm current stock levels?
  12. Yes, but this is no longer an island of Manx people. It's now just a colony of little Englanders.
  13. No, it wouldn't. It would breach confidentiality.
  14. It was made in China, just like everything else.
  15. Yes. The adjacent isle is even worse.
  16. I really am in self-quarantine with covid-19. If I was "attention seeking" then I was very slow to seek it given I haven't even posted in 8 days. lol
  17. I'm not paranoid or a lunatic. I've got covid-19.
  18. But it is big news? The only thing we don't have here is a 24/7 update. We need to leave it to the appropriate authorities to investigate. It will be big news again when their findings are completed and/or there is any prosecution. We still live in a nation governed by the rule of law.
  19. The Isle of Man will be the same. I am running out of food myself and only able to eat one meal per day.
  20. My loathing for this island increases day by day. The people are backward, nosy, and small minded. But they're also boring. At least in similarly backward communities such as in Children of the Corn or The Wicker Man the people were interesting; there was a sense of mystery in the air. The only thing in the air on this island is the stench of dog sh1t and sweaty lycra.
