  1. Wow, now that's frightening but yes, makes sense. What a world we live in.
  2. Now that is very interesting. Yes I do, I went to Greece last month.
  3. Thank you everyone for the replies. Sounds like I should have gone belt and braces and done a bit more research and paperwork before travelling. I haven't had a reprieve unfortunately, I'm being deported at 0745 tomorrow. The immigration suite which is my home for the night is a bit like I imagine the old Vicky Road prison was like. It does have toilets though. I just got particularly unlucky with the actual passport officer, then the immigration lads steamed in to enforce that decision. Embassy and IOM Govt weren't able to overturn the original decision once they had signed off the paperwork. I might keep the thread up as a reference for others (admin if you'd like to change the name of the thread to something more relevant that might work.) Thanks again.
  4. Thanks for these replies, it's as I thought. I've had the IOM Govt as well as the British Embassy on the phone, they have spoken to the macho men immigration here, who aren't budging. I'm being deported on the next flight to Gatwick apparently. Total nightmare. Hopefully doesn't happen to anyone else but their sheer incompetence of not recognising 'British Islands, Isle of Man, as a British citizen's passport has cost me my holiday. Guy at the Embassy said if they don't like the look of you or the passport there's not much they can do, it's their power and prerogative. And that I have just been unlucky with officers on duty at this particular time. Might speak to IOM newspapers on my return to drum up a bit of awareness.
  5. Please could someone give me a definitive answer..currently in immigration office in Istanbul. Do Manx passport holders need a visa to visit Turkey? Ta

    TT 2022 ??

I've got it on good authority that this 'mistaken identity' incident is going to be high up the national broadcast news this evening, not a good look for the TT, and so much worse for those poor families and friends.
