No it was a joke, but it wasn't satire.

Even push bikes can't park on cycle lanes.

Cables, pectrums, strings etc As mentioned earlier Bridge Bookshop in PE and Ramsey have a range of musical supplies. There's a dedicated music shop opening in Peel too I believe.

Why didn't the police or whoever stop the queue at the entry to the carpark?

Now that's what I call a Dad Act!

Bit harsh. The Joey Deacon story (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joey_Deacon) is a triumph of the human will to communicate. He wrote his autobiography by telling it to his mate, Ernie, who was the only person who could understand him, who dictated it to their pal Michael who wrote it out longhanded then their other friend Tom typed it up despite not being able to read or write. Jason doesn't have anything like that level of support.

That's surprisingly efficient of them. Next they need to run buses to the timetable. They did announce a couple of cancellations last night - quite late.
-
I doubt they up dated the timetables at the stops yet with the contingency timetable. There's also been cancelation still. Suggest that you check their facebook and also try findmybus which should show you if there's a bus o the road.

For what I wrote in the next post - the dreadful communication around this. But by “organisers” I mean IOMG and it’s agencies not necessarily just the Clark of Course or ACU so the coroner is part of that.
-
No it’s about the incorrect identification, the delay in recognising acknowledging the error, and the lack of empathy in the message where their error was finally admitted. The switched dog-tag is a contributory factor to the first but it’s not a free pass on the rest.
-
They’ve nothing to apologise. Perfectly reasonable question. It’s the “organisers” that need to apologise.
-
That explains why the mix-up happened. From the moment it was announced it was likely to have an explainable cause. And I think most people accepted that the people on the ground were in a chaotic situation that would have contributed to the mistake. Doesn't really explain the rush to inform the families, make a formal announcement, the time it took to identify the error and then the matter of fact way the error was announced. All of these reflect badly on IOMG or it's agents.

I suppose the relative low level of cover is one of the risks competitors know when they enter.

I doubt the payouts are anywhere near a £m to competitors, maybe for third parties but not for injured competitors.

The number one went up Cregnesh (and some went up Bradda at that time) when buses were half hourly or hourly double deckers. The strategy has been to have the buses on the road on the main income generating service. The knowledge that there's a frequent and reliable bus encourages bus use. What has happened is the slack in the system - trips round the country, drivers sat in the depot between journeys, has been systematically reduced. It's worked well, in terms of customer service and passengers numbers (we're told) but recent weeks have shown that there's now not enough slack in the system to cope with driver shortages. A reduced service of three an hour on the Southern Route might be better in the long term to enable the less popular routes to be run but the continginency timetable will need rejigging if it's permanent. (There seems to be only one bus an hour between PE and PSM and between two per hour between PSM and PE 5 minutes apart - the Cregnesh service would even this out).
-
Well that’s the reason for issuing the contingent bus timetable until the schools break up. This will give the users confidence that the bus will be there, and remove the need for daily list of cancellations.
-
Disappointing but unavoidable I suppose. It suggests passenger from the South looking to go to the hospital should change at Victoria Street. But buses to the Hospital actually go from Lord Street. Passengers would be better advised to t/f at either the Brown Bobby or get off and on Pulrose Bridge and walk round the corner to the stop on Peel Road.

The Isle of Man is missing..........(give us your opinion)

Actually some of the newer Noodle Pots are quite nice if you add some stir fried vegitables to them. -
If there's one person we need to turn to in times like this it's a Bubble Tea Expert.

I just find it more likely that a father in this situation talking to his local paper is more likely to be mistaken than lying about an irrelevent detail. All he knows is he's got one son in hospital in Liverpool, his other son was initially sent to identify a body on the Isle of Man, possibly via Liverpool. It seems this understandable misunderstanding and people are making too much of it.
-
I think it's more likely that the Dad, who's being quoted, doesn't know where the brother went to identify the corpse, but does know that his son is in hospital in Liverpool and probably thinks the Isle of Man is just off Liverpool anyway.
