  1. Sorted. Thanx, tonight Firefox sleeps with the Fishes
  2. I'm hoping for some advice from the Techno Boffs here. I use Firefox and it seems to be getting worse with it Hanging a lot and then Not Responding. It seems to be worse if there is a lot of Gif type stuff or video segments on the page or i open alot of pages at once, say 6 for ;ie. I'm on MT Ultra so bandwidth shouldn't be a prob. I didn't have this problem, say, last year for ;ie but it's steadily got worse. Could anyone please tell me if it's either Firefox has become pants, MT's Ulta is pants, both, or i've broke something. I use the router that MT supplied btw, . Thank you
  3. Rubbish. It is far too easy to get a blue badge at the moment. I could name at least half a dozen people that have a badge and can walk as well and as far as most people. The whole thing needs a good shake up. Ok smartarse, name at least 6 people then. And then explain wtf that has to do with claiming Disability. You get Blue badges if you can claim DLA or sometimes on a short term basis, not just for any disability. But then you most probably know that being so clever and all. I'll take that as you were talking bollox then and you don't know and i'm supposed to be the wanker. You're so full of crap.

  5. I think the £750k is a one off charge not an annual one. Wolley, the questionaires are going to be sent out annually so i would imagine that the Fee would be annually as well. I've not been told any different.
  6. Also to go along with the Pension reform, the DHSS are sending out questionnaires to people on Disability again. Whilst i agree that there are people who are on the Sick who are quite able to work, there are many who can't. Atos was deemed to be unfair to it's approuch because it sent out Tick Box questionaires which didn't really reflect on what was the persons problem and was judged by a Health Worker with no knowledge of the persons heath problem history. Atos has now been replaced with a Company who have sent out Tick Box questionarres which don't really reflect on what is the persons problem and will be judged by a Health Worker with no knowledge of the persons heath problem history. Add to this the Company stating it is Target orientated can only mean that genuine people are getting dragged through the Mill at the same time as the duffers as they will have to save the DHSS their £750.000 Fee per year before the DHSS start to save money. I'd be interested to know who would be held accountable if someone gets injured or worse due to being sent back to work when they shouldn't have. I also believe that people with drink or drug problems won't be ask to fill in a questionaire so there's not much encouragement to get clean there then.
  7. Electing Crookall to MLC makes about as much sense as electing Herod onto the Board of the Bethlehem Playgroup Association. The mans an idiot and electing him just shows bad ther present lot are. God helps us.
  8. Did they catch it from animal or human shoite?
  9. Does anyone know someone on the IOM who has caught Toxoplasmosis from their animals or even heard of anyone doing so ? You can't get the cancer statistics let alone toxoplasmosis. Also, I'd hazard a guess and say that Toxoplasmosis is the last thing on a GP's mind if you present with a certain set of symptoms. It is also very often asymptomatic, if you bothered to read the link. I read the link all right, i just found your post to be scare mongering bollox. Similar thing to Cryptospiriosis, lots of people mention it on the isle of man but know one knows anyone who has caught it.
  10. I have my dog in the kitchen because she shadows me everywhere and thst is where she has her dinner. I also have my cats in the kitchen, they eat there too. Never a problem and no dysentery! Thing is, Toxoplasmosis can be difficult to diagnose, and asymptomatic, initially. I'm sure you worm your animals regularly but there is an inherent risk of transmission between species and humans, especially kids who are slack when it comes to hand-washing. It can cause blindness in kids. I refuse to eat anything at my sisters because her cats run riot over her worktops, even while she's preparing food she's stroking them and doesn't wash her hands! And guess where their litter-tray is? I've seen them use it and jump straight up on the counters. Like a lot of pet-owners, she's oblivious to the potential risks and can't understand where I'm coming-from (''They're my children you know!"). http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toxoplasmosis Half the world's population carry it. The link is very informative though like my sis, I'd expect most anthropomorphic pet owners would prefer not to know. Certain areas of research have linked toxoplasmosis with OCD, ADHD, schizophrenia and even suicidal behaviour in humans. As it does with rats , the parasites remove a rat's fear of the cat and even adds an attractive odour in the host cats pee to make the rat's actively seek out the source! It is biologically pre-disposed to being eaten and thus taking the parasite to the next stage of its continuing evolution. Around 350,000 cases a year in the UK. Does anyone know someone on the IOM who has caught Toxoplasmosis from their animals or even heard of anyone doing so ?
  11. I was under the impression that the BBC gave free licences not Tynwald. So how does something a UK company recieves save the IOM anything, or is it just a cost charged and the Government gets it cut?
  12. From what i gather, she wants to hire a car and whilst she can pay for it before she goes, they won't take Debit or PrePaid cards when she goes to pick it up.
  13. My friend needs a Credit Card to travel to the USA. Does anyone have suggestions as to which is better or worse as she only needs it there and won't use it in on the Island as she uses Debit cards here.

    Digital 'ad scam'

This Scam and those scammers were reported to the Office of Fair Trading by a number of local companies about 8 years ago and true to form, they said they couldn't do anything as it was off island. It seems that now it has happened to a Governmental Dept, the bunch of usless tossers could have actually got off their fat arses and done something all along. Oh how i laughed when i read that headline, i wonder if question will get asked in Tynwald or should we just learn from this mistake and move forward.
