  1. Out of interest, which one?
  2. The likes of ClearVu can do it.
  3. Nope, everything is done through the Starlink website apart from installing the dish, which anyone can do. Bluewave as far as I can gather are maintaining the ground station.
  4. True, but none of it is going into MT's pocket. Prices are predicted to come down though once more users have taken it up.
  5. Speeds are good too. I'm normally receiving around 280Mbps down and 30+Mbps up.
  6. I've got so fed up with MT with the fibre rollout debacle that I'm now using Starlink. I can't see myself ever going back to a local telecoms, Starlink have a great customer service and the service itself is a breeze to set up.
  7. Another for Ayre & Michael: Sosthene Boussougou
  8. I don't think it will. Once the ground station goes online then a local telecoms company will look after the equipment via a maintenence contract. The only thing this will do is probably draw customers away from the likes of Sure and MT, especially if fibre is still some years away.
  9. As the guys said, it's all done through a dish to the satellites for down/up traffic at the users end. The ground stations are what links the satellites to the internet data centers. ETA: Here's a link that shows all the Starlink satellites https://satellitemap.space/#
  10. I've got it. Last time I checked the national broadband roll out scheme I was 2-3 years away from it being installed in my area. The only other options available to my address are ADSL @6Mbps or 4G which I was using. I've had a couple of moments where service is disrupted, maybe three minutes a day every few days but overall I can't fault it. Speeds are typically around 200Mbps give or take for myself and, unlike the 4G Sure 'Unlimited' service, it is is genuinely unlimited. P
  11. If anyone is worried about the radiation from 5G signals then there is a solution: The 5GBioshield
  12. From 3FM news: A man has been arrested after a suspicious package was found at Post Office Headquarters. The package - which was found by a member of staff last week resulted in the evacuation of the building. Now, Police have confirmed a 21-year-old man from the north of the Island has been arrested for the offences of; attempting to cause explosion, making or keeping explosives with intent to endanger life or property and another offence endangering public safety. Officers say the man has been assisting detectives with the ongoing investigation and is currently on police station bail. Authorities Say they won’t be disclosing the contents of the suspect package at this time.

    CLEARED

Would not at all surprise me if her name doesn't get mentioned on FB followed by a sharpening of the pitchforks.
  14. Someone didn't get an invite
  15. Had it for a month or so now and the only issue I have come across so far is the strict NAT settings when gaming. Sure are meant to be looking at a work around but I've not heard anything about that yet. Apart from that it seems to be spot on, especially for those of us in the sticks blighted with poor speeds through a cable. I've had no issues streaming Netflix/Amazon content and, NAT aside, no issues gaming either. I've gone from 11Mbps down and 0.8Mbps up to ~43Mbps down and 11Mbps up, placement of router is key though!
  16. Jack O'Halloran (Superman villain) knows, he's been trying to publish a book about it for years...
  17. Same boat, done lots of site visits and meetings there from previous planning applications. I still wouldn't have put it down at £12m compared to some 'cheaper' places I've worked on in the past. Either way, wayyyyy out of my league if it ever came up for sale
  18. St Marks. Not sure where they've plucked the figure from but it's certainly not a £120m property either, probably not even close to £12m!!
  19. You have running water?!? I've fired you a message about your 4g setup too!
  20. No doubt us great unwashed living out in sticks will have to go without yet again....
  21. To be fair to Beecroft I didn't even know Ayres was standing in my constituency until last week so easily done....
  22. This is the shield: https://shield.nvidia.com/android-tv Great bit of kit. I'd highly recommend checking out www.RMKodi.uk too, they have windows based emulators there for your PC/laptop as well as links to full sets of roms (games).
  23. Give Retroarch a try on your PC, pretty sure it's free and there's a donate option if you enjoy it. I run RetroBox TV on my android box (Shield TV) which has quite a few emulators built in, lots of old games from the Atari to NES available to download with a bit of searching around.
  24. Yep. One of them (the T25 van) rolled out into the road last year too....
