Well done! It was very warm today, not ideal walking weather.

I have obviously missed something. Why all the Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and other supercars around the Island at the moment?

I have recently passed my motorcycle test. I have been a car driver for 40+ years. I now have to display R plates on the motorcycle for 1yr, restricting me to max 50mph. Next month I am visiting the UK, and will be driving on Motorways. Am I still restricted to 50mph, and do I still need the R Plates whilst driving there? I have obviously Googled the question, but seem to be receiving conflicting advice. Any advice welcome.

vdsl 100mbps service
Rab replied to mizuno86's topic in Computing & Internet | Web Development & Hosting
I am with Sure, on the same service as you. My router syncs at about 60mbps, and tests show usually about 50mbps download, and 10mbps upload. Try https://www.speedtest.net/ for your tests, rather than using a Manx Telecom speed check. -
https://www.wheelbasealloys.com/ Used them a couple of times, for tyres and alloys.

£18 for a TT program? It is a magazine, and should not cost more than £4. Total rip off.

Wow, really a coincidence when I posted, tonight is a harvest moon. http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/41484454

I would go to Cornwall. London is busy, expensive, and not pretty at all.

I will believe it when I see it. I go to Port Soderick most days with my dogs. The Glen is lovely, apart from the signs everywhere - No overnight parking, no camping, no fires, and the obligatory dog shit notices everywhere. I wish the jobsworth in charge of this signage would fuck off. The beach and surroundings are sad. I would love to see it developed into something befitting the area. I have my doubts this will happen though.

Contacting Bluewave
Rab replied to Katman's topic in Computing & Internet | Web Development & Hosting
Anyone else having trouble with Bluewave over the last few days? I emailed their support last Friday, no reply. Bandwidth tonight dire. -
I live in South Douglas and have heard these bangs for about 1 month. Definitely not a shotgun, or bird deterrents. When I first heard them I thought they might be from a Knobmobile, probably from the MacDonalds area. The last one I heard was about 9am this morning.

I have watched Status Quo at the Palace Lido twice in the 70's Does anyone know when they last played at the Lido? I think about 1977, if anyone can confirm? Thanks.

Another vote for the Snug, in Ramsey. Steve has fitted two multi fuel stoves for us. Excellent job, fair prices.

Phone lines down in Ballakermeen area of Douglas. Reports of other areas. We are doomed!

VDSL router compatibility
Rab replied to ballaughbiker's topic in Computing & Internet | Web Development & Hosting
I use a 2850N at work. Syncs at a decent speed, but prone to dropping the connection several times per week. -
Land owner? Opposite side of Kate's cottage to Keppel gate
Rab replied to manxy's topic in General Chat
No, it is privately owned. I phoned the Creg-Ny-Baa pub some years ago, after someone tried to charge me to walk up the hill to watch the races. I didn't pay. The landlord told me the name of the owner, whom I have forgot. He apparently tries to fleece locals and bikers alike. Didn't work with me, or the 15 German bikers behind me. -
I saw one in the cycle lane earlier today. Unfortunately travelling the wrong way, against the traffic!
