John Otway returns to the Isle of Man for his first gig in 9 years ... John is an English singer-songwriter who has built a sizeable cult audience through extensive touring, a surreal sense of humour and a self-deprecating underdog persona. Patsy Matheson returns to the Isle of Man playing her second gig forJonnopromotions.com. This is her first Douglas show, having previously played Peel Centenary Centre and Onchan ... A brilliant songwriter, singer and guitarist who has been compared to Neil Young for her songwriting qualities, Patsy was probably best known for her work as a founder member of the award-winning acoustic quartet Waking The Witch, Patsy, who plays mandolin as well as guitars, had been a successful solo artist for some time before that band was formed, having released two albums, performed solo at Glastonbury and supported top artists including Al Stewart, Christy Moore, the late John Martyn, Gordon Giltrap, Dick Gaughan, Glenn Tilbrook and The Saw Doctors. Since Waking the Witch’s demise, Patsy has released three solo albums, the latest (Domino Girls) being launched this month. Patsy was awarded “Best Female Singer” in the 2013 Spiral Earth Awards.
