I was reading this article on the BBC's website about the expected winter power shortages in the UK. I was just wondering if anyone knows if we actually sell any power to the UK's national grid using the undersea cable, seeing how we've got Peel sat there not doing a whole lot... Or is it just not cost effective to do so?
IOM Examiner Letters, February 18th 2014. There are some very valid points in this letter. It will certainly be interesting to see how COMIN will navigate their way around the disparities without some kind of industrial action taking place. Unintended consequences come to mind.
I appreciate that this has been covered, but the Hansard has now been published and I thought it useful to note this piece of superlative über spin from the spin master himself Allan Bell, Chief Minister. In an attempt to excuse Tynwald for its huge inadequacies - and dare I say "incompetence" - regarding the MEA, Allan Bell, Chif Minister tried to portray what he thought about Mike Proffitt in the past, onto the population of the Isle of Man: (erm, can anyone remind who the Minister for Treasury was at the time of the MEA 'loans'.) Never one to give up the opportunity for some brown nosing, Eddie Lowey backed the Chief Minister up with his own inimitable words: Source: Hansard So...the MEA is all your fault folks. Yep, you and the media.
