I am a full time employee of a UK company, but when I first signed a contract with them, I was abroad on a job, so the contract was printed, signed, scanned and returned. In this contract I was entitled to a car for personal use, although I did not choose to take one. A couple of years ago, I received an email stating they did not have an original signed contract on file for me, they had posted a new contract out to my house and would I sign and return it asap. The mail specifically stated the reason (as above) and the fact that there 'is no change in the terms and conditions'. Given this info, and the fact that I was only home for a couple of days between jobs, I signed and returned the new contract without reading the whole thing through. We are now being transferred to another company, who do not offer a car, but will give all people who are entitled to a car, a car allowance each month. When I questioned why I was not included, I was told that the last signed contract (2012) supersedes the original (2007) and the 2012 one does not include the company car offer. What are my options (other than tell them where to stick their job)? Thanks.
der...am thinking perhaps I was asleep when the visit was announced I now read from the Govt Press Release dated today 12 April that "this week welcomed His Excellency Liu Xiaoming, the Chinese Ambassador to the United Kingdom, on a three-day visit to the Island". and I hear on MR Allan Bell saying he wrote and invited him in February and received a quick reply. But I don't recall previously reading or hearing in advance as to when he was in fact due to visit - did I miss this? Please Forum Members let me know what and when you knew of the visit. thanks OaP http://www.gov.im/lib/news/cso/chiefministerwel23.xml
