Just reading through the Indy's Page 3 account of the FOI request pertaining to the background of the purchase of PSM's Manxonia House by the village's Commissioners. A Board seemingly misled as to the state of what they were purchasing, emails and concerns from those Board members not responded to, results of a structural report ignored, including, apparently, the likely need to replace the roof of the building, a purchase decision pushed through on the basis of a valuation (made clear that it was only that) but no proper survey carried out although the Board were told that one had been. Discuss...?

Blatent hard sell for 'The Fish Shop' in Port St Mary. Located in the old Post Office opposite the Co-op. The reason being is because they have some great fish on display daily and are really helpful for your fishy needs. Personally I don't/wouldn't like to see this fishmonger disappear, as I refuse to buy the rotten stuff in Shopshite. They also sell coffee/teas etc using local milk and offer fishy snacks like Mackerel and kipper baps. Next time you're down south pop in. I have no connection to this venture. but since a certain coffee shop can have 14pages of free publicity.....

Thanks to IOM Arts Council Island of Culture 2014 funding Chris is going to be spending a bit of time here. He'll be going out to schools and to IOM Soundcheck and offering different workshops for those organisations. This workshop on Saturday 25 January 2014 is intended for any band, working in any genre - here's some ideas of what you'll get: How to build a following / using online tools / how not to get ripped off. Your music video = your calling card. Thinking outside the box. How to manage a band, how to choose a manager, managing the band dynamic ... come along and bring your questions. Chris has been touring solidly for the last decade or so, so there will be plenty of meat to put on the bones of these questions and more! Starting at 11am and finishing by 1pm ... Chris T-T is looking forward to having you there. ADMISSION IS FREE OF CHARGE- however we will ask you to sign in and to complete a very simple questionnaire about your participation in the workshop. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Port-St-Mary-Town-Hall/363249277062377
