John Otway returns to the Isle of Man for his first gig in 9 years ... Thanks to the Isle of Man Arts Council and Island of CultureJonnoPromotions is delighted to bring "Rock & Roll's greatest failure" John Otway back to the Isle of Man for his first gig this decade! John is an English singer-songwriter who has built a sizeable cult audience through extensive touring, a surreal sense of humour and a self-deprecating underdog persona. With Island-based musicians Martin Rigby & Martin Jones as his rhythm section on this gig and Adam Jones and Liam Callow on Guitars, John is really looking forward to his return! Thanks to IOM Arts Council Island of Culture 2014 funding Chris is going to be spending a bit of time here. He'll be going out to schools and to IOM Soundcheck and offering different workshops for those organisations. This workshop on Saturday 25 January 2014 is intended for any band, working in any genre - here's some ideas of what you'll get: How to build a following / using online tools / how not to get ripped off. Your music video = your calling card. Thinking outside the box. How to manage a band, how to choose a manager, managing the band dynamic ... come along and bring your questions. Chris has been touring solidly for the last decade or so, so there will be plenty of meat to put on the bones of these questions and more! Starting at 11am and finishing by 1pm ... He's a prolific recording artist and has been acknowledged as an influence by artists like Frank Turner (who he has toured with and played with).
