Haven’t listened since Stu left Talking Heads at midday apart from the odd news bulletin.

And they can be pretty odd.

Maybe. Was listening on 1368kHz this morning, caught the new headlines & I think the weather. All the time a background track was burbling away...

Probably co-channel interference. You're just outside the primary service area.

Or a flu ridden Scouser with a lisp to substitute

Christmas Day with Bazza would be good listening. Reminiscences from a varied career interspersed with favourite tracks.

Could lead to a series and a cult audience.

Trouble would be getting him to stop

Anyway, hope there'll be some good Essex band music from the likels of Dr Feelgood

Who - strangely - don't appear to feature on this list of Essex bands https://www.ranker.com/list/essex-bands-and-musical-artists-from-here/reference

It must be quite effective since Wilko Johnson was diagnosed with terminal cancer in about 2012 and is still touring.

Now that the December solstice has passed, will Mylchreest's have a new advert that says "the nights are getting lighter"?

For weeks they have been saying that "the nights are getting darker". What a load of twaddle.....

And in the same advert, you had the grammatical howlers "Yes, there is, isn't there" in answer to the claim that "there's some good deals"....

I have no intention of going anywhere near the place if that's their standard.

There was a more serious error revealed on Friday:

Apology to family and friends of Edna Rolfe

Error made during inquest report

Apology to family and friends of Edna Rolfe.

During our report on the opening of the inquest of Mrs Edna Rolfe on the 21 June 2019, we made an error.

We reported that a row occurred between Mrs Rolfe and her son, on the night prior to her disappearance; that statement was completely incorrect.

We apologise unreservedly to the family and friends of Mrs Rolfe, for the distress caused by this comment.

We all make mistakes, but what is interesting here is the length of time it has taken to come out with the correction.  They are reporting what was said at an inquest, so whether what was reported was true or not would be easy to find out.  And they would have had immunity from prosecution if what they said or wrote was an accurate report.  (That statement certainly reads as if there were lawyers involved).  So they either should have apologised earlier (if it was incorrect) or not at all (if it was correct).

Roger, I do hope that you’re not attempting to suggest that the infallible and highly professional coterie of top class journos at IOM ‘Newspapers’ may be guilty of an error? It would be unworthy of you to even think it. Tut tut.
