The Prince of Morroco in Merchant of Venice uses “glisters” . But there are lots of contemporary poems and songs that use “glitters”.

To be really pedantic the Prince of Morocco (yes, I can never spell it either) doesn't 'use' it but reads out the words on the scroll in the casket.  Inevitably there's a Wiki on the phrase.

Getting back to Stu Peters he has as much right as anyone to post on here.
I have been interested to hear his views on here on the  finances of Manx Radio and his video explaining the workings of Tynwald.

OK as an MHK he has certain limitations. It wouldn’t “ do” for him to come on here and post something with expletive laden or incendiary comments . But he has a forum more important than Manx Forums (Tynpotwald, for those who like to call it thus)to make his views which takes priority.

Though it is rarely a bad thing that politicians find additional ways of engaging with the public be it by MF,Facebook Twitter whatever.

I am grateful for his contributions here albeit that I may not always agree with them.

Such a change from Winto.

Quite.  She is obviously intelligent, not afraid to admit she knows nothing about some things (the two often go hand in hand), is polite and friendly to callers.   The main plus is that she doesn’t have a condescending and patronising tone.

And she actually has an opinion! I would like her to stay on Mannin line.

It is nothing new that Beth Espey is recognised as one of the better presenters at Manx Radio and, without referring to or slagging off others, one of the few who seem to have a half decent knowledge of current affairs, politics, events etc combined with a bit of common sense and brain so that can lead a reasonable questioning debate on various topics as opposed to just letting contributors spouting forth rubbish.

Problem it she can not do all the current affairs programming for MR even though they have cut and dumbed down

It's certainly troubling that Manx Radio have cut/dumbed down their current affairs content at a time when the subsidy/bailout/subvention has reached the highest levels yet. We're paying a lot more to get a whole lot less.

If the rumours of them losing 'Radio TT' turn out to be true then there surely needs to be a renegotiation downwards of their subvention.

there not rumours  someone else will be broadcasting the TT in real time and more that likely what was once a great free advert for the Island  and tuned in to motorcycle enthusiasts around the world  will require a payment before tuning or logging in , Government are missing a big trick here and shooting themselves in the foot at the same time ,,

Real time TT is a tricky idea. If you can watch it live online, why come here, especially if you’ve maybe seen it in person already? What happens when there are massive delays, not that that ever happens? If all free coverage goes it’ll be very harmful to the event.
