Nissan Skyline

Recommended Posts

A friend recently pointed out to me a topic bought up on the T.T forum's page about some little girl, and when i say little i meen small minded, who was asking if anyone had taken a picture of her and daddy in there nissan skyline when they went over the mountain. Can somebody please explain to me what the obsession is with Nissan skylines, i have herd several people talkin about them and from all i can see its a car that is as long as a bus and handles like on too.

Apparenly they're the car of choice for Japanese boy racers. I think it's compulsory to drive them (and Subarus) as fast as possible around Douglas town.

I quite like them in honesty, probably going back to Gran Turismo on the Playstation.

Wrong. The handling is excellent.

The obsession probably comes from the power, handling, uprated brakes & suspension and styling and faster to 100mph than a Porsche 911 Carrera 4. Not to everyones taste but it does have a market.

Awesome cars - I made a programme whilst at Duke Video about them and interviewed lots of owners and specialists.

They are very much a cult car - Jeremy Clarkson raved about the first one he drove. They're easily tuned to massive power levels, and have intelligent 4wd and rear wheel steering.

Did a passenger lap of Spa circuit in one - truly outstanding.

Give me a skyline over an Evo or a Scoob any day.

(No offence like slinky).

If I had the money, it would be my car of choice for sure.

Japanese Super GT championship - although as there isn't a Skyline GT-R at the moment, they're using a Fairlady Z (or 350Z as we know it)

Gorgeous cars, specially the R32 incarnation.

I know when they came out they were raced a lot in Australia and kept winning so easily that they changed the rules a lot to make it harder for them. Bathurst I think it was.

I'd be happy to have one as they aren't common so the potential chav factor of them is a bit more limited.

Back to the original post though, I can't imagine remotely anyone on a bike forum as being interested enough to take a pic of one. That said I like bikes and cars too, so possible I suppose.
