Mission
Once again, it's sounding in Ramsey. Are we gonna die or have they broken it again?
bluemonday
Is the pier collapsing?
pongo
Have they sounded the all clear yet ? Can I come up from the cellar ?
Mission
Apparently so, although I didn't hear the all clear. False alarm again, workman doing stuff set it off. There really should be some safeguard in place to prevent this.
pongo
When they attack, none of us will know what to do anyway.
molly
Who actually takes any notice of the siren anyway? Its just another example of somebody pissed with power inflicting there stupid ideas on us. Fuck knows what it costs to maintain all that lot, and even if folk did take any notice the amount of times its gone off accidentally people would just think the siren was crying wolf if if did ever sound for a real 'incident'
bluemonday
Agreed. A cold war relic. Pointless and a waste of money.
Speckled Frost
It sounds every time someone from south of Laxey enters the town. Everyone then quickly changes the shop facades from Next and Primark to strange little hippy shops and alternative medicine stores.
pongo
It sounds every time someone from south of Laxey enters the town. Everyone then quickly changes the shop facades from Next and Primark to strange little hippy shops and alternative medicine stores. And, like in The Truman Show, if you stand and watch for a while the same stuff happens again and again in the background. The same people walk around the corner again and the same cars and vans keep going around.
The Old Git
False alarm again, workman doing stuff set it off. Getting real for the real test on Saturday?
Tempus Fugit
the ones still in the cellar are those who set it off, don't want the flack when they pop their heads up again
Foxtrotlima
I am actually going to have a word with those responsible - the siren actually managed to get my 15 year old out of bed before midday for the first time these holidays! It is just a shame they can't do it about 7.30am every school morning
Pat Ayres
Can I take off my camouflage now, or am I doomed to wander the plains of Ayre for ever on my lonely Vespa until the petrol runs out.
Albert Tatlock
I heard from a reliable source, that everytime you hear the siren, someone somewhere in the government just wasted £50million and got promoted.
Topaz
Sigh! No Albert, it's every time somebody in the Govmint wastes fifty million quid a fairy dies. Thats why you never see any (fairies) at the fairy bridge these days. ........well when did you last see one?
