M4nxk4t
We went last week and thought it was excellent!!!! We had the steak and all the trimmings, cooked to perfection and portion sizes were spot on. Great atmosphere, and went down to the games room after and even though we were the only ones down there, it was great!!
2thick4uni
Went for a meal upstairs on Tuesday night. Reception area is the cafe downstairs which is cold and uninviting on an evening, certainly not fine dining standard. I've eaten everywhere from Mcdonalds and KFC to 3* Michelin and have to say it is the worst food I've had the misfortune to eat for a long time. Had the Fois Gras starter, warm in parts, cold in others and with an odd overcooked outside, undercooked inside texture - had it before in several good restaurants and this was total cr*p in comparison. Mrs 2thick4 had tomato tartin which was even worse, undercooked to the point of being really soggy with a paste like texture - we left most of both starters as they were inedible. I had sirloin steak for main course, it was dry and tough, Mrs 2thick4 had the duck which was equally bad and overcooked. The Chef here shouldn't even be allowed to fry eggs for the Steam Packet. We left early after paying £77 for this rubbish, I should have refused to pay but was persuaded not to make a fuss and spoil the evening. Needless to say no tip was left. Want an evening you won't forget? Dine at Chapters................
