Petrol Prices

5p/l 'off' vouchers at Tesco (Douglas) this week with little advertising hordings to go with it at the store. B......r-all use for the 99% of us not taking car across in the foreseeable future.

Is there no manager with more than a grain of initiative at Douglas Tesco who could phone HQ, point out that there is no fuel facility here, and the natives might appreciate a more targeted offer on something else?

Thought there were actually tanks already installed at Tesco. How would they get the stuff here though?

Yeah, they must have seen one hell of a drop off in trade thanks to the roadworks there. That price drop practically writes off their entire profit per litre. They'll have to sell a shitload of fags and mars bars to make up for that one.

I see its dropped again today to 1.389 at total peel rd and its 144.9 at brown bobby and milestone .. Nice 6ppl saving!!

I topped up at 1.44.9 in Port Erin, was 143.9 in Ramsey and yet 140.9 in Douglas, does take the piss, surely all should be the same?

Ramsey was 139.9 at EVF this morning, 141.9 yesterday morning.

It was 144.9 at MP yesterday and 141.9 this morning.

Port erin will be manx petroleum .. All total sites seem to be 1.389 or 1.399 . Manx petroleum seem to be all 1.469 for petrol

Still too much. Wholesale is 43 pence per litre, plus 59 pence duty plus vat = £1.22 anything else is middle men, costs and profit

Have you ever run a business, or been involved in pricing of goods or setting margins? I'm going to have a guess at no. What price do you think they should be selling at?

Went to put some petrol in this morning at Total Peel Road, it's shut, getting some repairs done, I noticed going past Milestone it was 140.9, so are the other Total stations dropping their prices?, something had to happen, because the oil is down to $107/108, and in the UK they will have dropped theirs.
