Buying Heaven By The Pound

Recommended Posts

The Godfather trilogy comprises three of my favourite-ever films, although thinking about it today I have to admit the plotline in GF3 is too highly improbable to take seriously.

A precis - Michael Corleone, who rises to a position of incredible power and wealth, has alienated pretty much everyone he was ever close to, and is feared or despised by everyone he comes into contact with. Yet in the autumn of his life, Michael decides that he wants to legitimise his career by being remembered as a kind, wise man and benefactor, for which he receives the highest honour the Catholic church can bestow.

Pffft - like THAT could ever happen! I must deconstruct Casino, Raging Bull and Goodfellas when time permits.

Yes, Very subtle.

The far-fetched plotline you describe is reminiscent of the lyrics to Ian Gillan's 'no laughing in heaven' you played on the rock show the other saturday.
