Keith
How many more lives must be destroyed before this lunatic carnage is banned? You really don't get 'freedom of choice' in any way, shape of form do you?

spook
There are times when people must be protected from themselves, and their families protected from them. Individuals are NOT solely responsible for themselves alone. Society has to pick up the pieces when their stupidity results in tragedy let alone pick up the costs. All things come to an end. Once duelling was legal, once bare knuckle boxing was legal, once taking cocaine or opium was legal but in each case society moved on and banned such things. We should put an end to facilitating the carnage that takes place on our roads as a result of these silly outdated motorcycle races on public roads, events that are much more about making money and pandering to the idiot fringe than behaving as a responsible society. It's long past time this stupidity was ended.

Seeing as we have not heard the true facts of last nights incident, you all seem to be coming out of your boring little lives to have the annual moan. have you nothing better to moan about than the races.. The island has seen more Tourist this first week of TT than most of the entire season of last year, new money into the Manx economy.

ThankU
Not saying that there was a fatality last night, but two weeks ago at a Road Race in the Czech Republic three riders lost their lives, and Czech Republic run more pure road races than any other country and no one moans about it, and the Press here and and the rest of the world dont make a big thing about it. No, we haven't heard any facts, but they're likely to be heartbreaking. But Hey, the tourist figures are up. Do you work for the Tourist Board or are you private sector insensitive? NO But I do know more about the risks involved with road racing than any on here
